Spell and Cantrip Attunement Slots

Attunement

Spell Attunement is tied to class level.

All casters start with 1 Attunement Slot.

Full casters gain an Attunement Slot every 2 levels, and an additional Attunement slot at level 21.

Half-casters gain Attunement Slots every 4 levels, and an additional Attunement slot at level 21.

Non-casters never gain Attunement Slots unless specified otherwise.

A spell has a set amount of uses per attunement, known as Available Casts. You can attune a spell multiple times to have more available casts. Some spells require multiple attunement slots.

When you complete a Rest, as in the Resting section, if you have attunement slots or cantrip attunement slots, the following occurs:

  • Spells you are attuned to regain all of their Available Casts.

  • You can choose to attune to new spells or replace your currently attuned spells.

Cantrips

On a Half Caster class, or a Full Caster class, you start with 1 Cantrip attunement slot at level 1. Multiclassing into another class does not grant the starting Cantrip Attunement slots again.

Full Caster classes receive a feature called Cantrip Efficacy at level 3, 11, and 19, which grants an additional cantrip attunement slot.

Cantrips can be attuned to standard attunement slots if you wish.
