Lord’s Ranger
Whether you are currently in service, or it was a part of your past, at some point you served a lord, and protected his wastes, fiefs and lands from danger. Poachers, beasts, monsters, or even the lord’s enemies fell by your hand. The people of the land rightfully view you as their protector, and a hero of the common folk. Your features are defensive, and grant you bonuses to relations with commoners and lords alike, albeit in differing ways.
Frontier Fighter
At Level 1, you have been trained and trialed by the wildlands you fight in, and have grown familiar with them. You may choose an environment to be your favored terrain from this list: Forests, Grasslands, Wetlands, Mountains, Deserts, Coasts, the Depths, or the Arctic. When you are within your favored terrain, you gain the following benefits:
Natural Difficult Terrain doesn’t slow you or your group’s movement.
You gain a +2 bonus to Stealth, Perception, and Survival checks.
You have advantage on any check made for the purposes of tracking, navigating or avoiding becoming lost.
You have advantage on any check or save made to discover, avoid, or resist environmental dangers such as dangerous weather, a thorn vine, traps, or an avalanche.
You gain a +2 bonus to accuracy.
You also have advantage on any checks made while setting traps, and traps you set deal +10 damage if they deal damage normally.
Noble Protector
At Level 5, you’ve learned new tactics to protect those around you.
You may choose a second favored terrain.
You have a +2 bonus to all Charisma skill checks when interacting with members of nobility, or government officials.
Commoners have an innate respect (or is it fear?) for you, if you have done any work in their area or among their people. You have advantage on any skill check directed at commoners while out of combat, such as insight checks, persuasion checks, or intimidation checks.
Royal Guard
When you are wielding a melee weapon and a target within your reach makes an attack or casts a spell at someone other than you, you can expend a Reaction to make a melee attack at the target. This melee attack deals +6 damage.
When you are wielding a ranged weapon and a target within 30 feet of you makes an attack or casts a spell at someone other than you, you can expend a Reaction to make a ranged attack at the target. This ranged attack has +3 accuracy.
Wisened Veteran
At Level 9, you have become sound of mind and full of experience.
You may choose a third favored terrain.
Traps you set now deal +20 damage if they deal damage normally.
The bonus to saving throws granted by Inveterate Wisdom also applies to Dexterity and Constitution saving throws.
Wild and Dangerous
At Level 13, you gain an additional Reaction.
Wasteland Legend
At Level 17, you’ve seen and done things beyond most mortal means.
You may choose a fourth favored terrain.
Traps you set now deal +30 damage if they deal damage normally.
You deal 1d4 additional Arcane damage with attacks for every Attunement Slot you have that that either has no spell attuned to it, or has no Available Casts remaining.
