Alder

Language - Alder

An arcane language developed by the Elves. It was formed in the primordial age by the first Elves, and has not changed much, but has been added to over time. It was the most common language long, long ago.

The language carries a certain grace to it, with words being long, flowery, detailed and descriptive. There may be a basic form of a word that is for common or quick use, and multiple variations of the same word with added suffixes, depending upon the details.

Many purely arcane magical fundamentals were absorbed directly into the Alder language. Alder language has many ties to the very earliest forms of spellcasting, and is commonly used today in the verbal components of arcane magics.

The Moonlight-bearing Laedrin and the mystical spirit-folk also primarily speak Alder.
