Architecture & Design -

Exterior Description:

The Library's exterior is a marvel of Etherean architecture. The ivory stone, quarried from the nearby Ivory Mountains, gleams in the sunlight, its surface etched with intricate carvings that depict scenes from Aeligord's rich history and mythology. Arched windows, strategically placed throughout the tiered structure, allow natural light to flood the interior, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. A grand staircase, carved from a single block of ivory stone, leads up to the main entrance, flanked by towering statues of renowned scholars and mages.

Interior Description:

The Library's interior is a labyrinth of interconnected chambers, reading rooms, and archives. The air is thick with the scent of aged parchment and leather bindings, a testament to the vast collection of books and scrolls housed within its walls. Bookshelves, stretching from floor to ceiling, line the walls of every chamber, their surfaces laden with volumes of knowledge. Spiral staircases connect the various levels, leading down to the secure underground archives where the most valuable and sensitive texts are kept under lock and key, some even chained to the shelves. Reading rooms, bathed in natural light, provide quiet spaces for study and contemplation.

Alterations:

Over the centuries, the Library has undergone numerous expansions and renovations to accommodate its ever-growing collection. New wings have been added, underground vaults excavated, and security measures enhanced. Despite these changes, the Library has retained its original architectural style and its commitment to preserving the knowledge of Aeligord.

Valuables and Treasures:

The Library of Ethyn houses an unparalleled collection of valuable books, ancient scrolls, rare maps, and magical artifacts. Among its most prized possessions are the original manuscripts of several foundational magical theories, the complete cartographic records of Aeligord's earliest explorers, and a collection of enchanted artifacts said to hold the keys to unlocking forgotten powers. These treasures are carefully guarded by the Masters of Knowledge, ensuring that they remain safe for future generations of scholars and mages.
