Orbit 2 - Volturn

Volturn is a rocky, terrestrial planet located at a distance of 1.2 astronomical units from the G2 star Sol. The planet has a barren, lifeless surface, covered in a thick layer of regolith and impact craters. Volturn's atmosphere is thin and mostly composed of carbon dioxide, making it unsuitable for human habitation. The planet is subject to extreme temperature fluctuations, with scorching hot days and frigid nights, due to its lack of atmosphere to retain heat. Despite its inhospitable conditions, Volturn is believed to have once possessed a significant amount of water, which has since been lost to space due to its weak gravitational field. Volturn's surface is rich in mineral resources, which could potentially be exploited by future mining operations.
