Orbit 3 - The Inner Asteroid Belt

The Inner Asteroid Belt is a region between the orbits of Volturn and Alvara, roughly 3.3 astronomical units from the G2 star Sol. This region is a dense field of rocks and small planetoids that orbit the star. The asteroids in the belt are thought to be remnants from the formation of the solar system and are composed of a variety of materials, including metals and silicates. The belt is constantly bombarded by cosmic radiation and is home to many collisions, which often result in the creation of smaller asteroids or the destruction of existing ones. The Inner Asteroid Belt provides insights into the early history and composition of the solar system and also holds potential for resource exploitation in the form of precious metals and minerals.
