Overview -
The Muckfields, located at the far edge of the city, is the poorest and most neglected district in all of Aeligord. It's more of a slum, with narrow, filthy streets and cramped, rundown houses that barely offer any protection from the elements. The air is thick with a foul smell that permeates every corner of the district, emanating from the nearby Gong farm that processes human waste.
Despite its squalid conditions, the Muckfields still attract people looking for a place to stay, albeit temporarily. Many migrants and impoverished workers come to the district seeking work, and they often find themselves stuck here due to the lack of opportunity and resources to move on to better areas.
The district is situated by the shore, but there are no cliffs here to provide any natural defense. Instead, a few rundown docks jut out into the water where a gong farmer unloads his gong barge, bringing in tons of human waste from all over the city to be processed into fertilizer. The work is backbreaking and unpleasant, but it provides a meager income for those willing to take it on.
Overall, the Muckfields are a stark contrast to the wealth and prosperity of other districts in Aeligord. It serves as a reminder of the stark inequalities and challenges faced by the city's poorest residents.
