The Onyxian Lords, sometimes referred to as the Seven Betrayers or Archfiends, is the collective name for the former seraph, Ophidion, and his six disciples who were cast out of the holy mountain Valanthos by Alor during the Age of Defiance. Now within the infernal realm of Alcarces, the Onyxian Lords rule over their own stygian domains as demigods and command their fallen disciples from within panoptic, black-stone towers.
There are seven Onyxian Lords. Each one is a demigod who possesses god-like power and rules an individual layer of Alcarces. Alcarces is a downward-spiraling underworld with three harrowing rivers flowing through each layer. It exists apart from and below Valanthos, and is the complete antithesis of that blissful realm. Seven onyx towers reach skyward throughout the realm, one on each layer of Alcarces. Each tower is called a Throne, and houses one of the Seven Betrayers. Surrounding each Throne are vast hellscapes called baronies. Each barony has a name and differs in its inhabitants, general landscape.
The seven lords, their baronies, and their titles in their descending order within Alcarces are:
Kalinaeus, The First, Onyxian Lord of Saccularius and the Charlatan’s Throne
Nykessa, The Second, Onyxian Lord of Mendax and the Liar’s Throne
Halconus, The Third, Onyxian Lord of Ascaenos and the Temper’s Throne
Garazael, The Fourth, Onyxian Lord of Drosis and the Conqueror's Throne
Salathiel, The Fifth, Onyxian Lord of Nox and the Harlot's Throne
Margolon, The Sixth, Onyxian Lord of Carnifex and the Butcher’s Throne
Ophidius, The Seventh, Onyxian Lord of Herethos and the Traitor’s Throne
