An order of rangers and clerics who patrol the fallen lands of Galdoria. Sworn to protect the isolated communities of that still dwell in that cursed place, they stalk the amongst the wilderness of ruins of a once great kingdom to combat the undead horrors and shadowy fiends that prowl beyond the walls of the few remaining towns.
Viewed with suspicion by many, who believe them to be corrupted by the darkness that swallowed their lands, they are never the less grateful when the rangers appear out of nowhere to save their skins.
Secretive and reclusive, the Grey Rangers are a mystery to most.
While worship of the gods is by no means uniform across the order, Moridane - Goddess of Death and the Veil (the boundary between Umbra and the real world), is a nature choice.
Origins
Comprised of the King's elite rangers and the decimated ranks of the clergy, The Veilguard became a decentralised resistance force when the lands of Galdoria fell to undead and shadow.
Rites
To become a member of the Grey Ranger, the initiate needs to undergo a ritual whereby their soul is thrust into the realm of Umbra. There they must survive for seven days and nights so that they can understand what it means to stand up against the forces of darkness.
