Headquartered in the Monastery of the Sacred Rose in Estania, their principle adversary is the demon prince Azrakhul, Lord of Whispers and member of The Unhallowed, whom they have imprisoned within their monastery

Background

The order was founded in honour of a hedge knight that bore a white rose as his sigil and was called, Ser Faral Calderwyn 'The Pale Knight', a legendary hero of Estania's past.

Ser Faral, with his rune sword 'Thorn', fought and slaid the demon Azrakhul, Lord of Whispers in single combat but died in the attempt. With his last ounce of will he bound his soul with the demon, knowing it was the only way to keep it contained, with that done his body crumbled to dust but for his hand, severed during the battle.

Upon the spot of the knight's death, the monastery was raised and black roses have grown ever since.

Ser Faral's descendant went on to rule both Estania as House Calderwyn but also in the hereditary post of Abbot within the Monastery.

Centuries have passed… and now the bonds that hold the demon at bay are weakening. Should they fail, the consequences for Estania could be catastrophic.

• Strange elixirs have been turning up in the local area that tied to a string of unexplained deaths. Black as night and being sold with wild claims of the great power they can bestow upon the drinker, the authorities have traced the source to the black roses that grow within the monastery.

• The heir to the Barony of Estania has had a falling out with his father and fled to the his uncle as the monastery. His lord father needs someone to retrieve him but you arrive to find the monks massacred, the Abbot the only one alive, he blames the heir for the carnage!
