We, and those who came before us, have bled into every inch of this keep for centuries. Its stones are not just ours… they are of us. Our blood runs through them as surely as it runs through our veins.
Stand fast men! Fight for your brothers, for the fallen, for Father Grimmhalden!
With this keep falls the North itself. These gates must hold!
— Count Roderick Krieger, 12th Count of Grimmhalden, Marshal of the North
Overview
The northern most keep along The Towers of Irmingard and one of only three gates among it's entire length.
The site of many battles and sieges throughout the history of Feranhold, the keep itself predates the The Towers of Irmingard by several centuries.
Destroyed and rebuilt several times, the keep remains a crucial crossing point for trade to Glimmerdeep and the wider northern lands.
The men of the garrison refer to the old castle as "Father Grimmhalden" it being like a cantankerous old relative who refuses to die!
