A Drow goddess of Freedom, Hope, Song, and Beauty, and a patron of liberated Drow and the downtrodden.
Mythos
A goddess of the Drow, most worshiped by those that wish to return to the surface in peace. A goddess of Freedom, Hope, Song, and Beauty. She also pursues harmony between all races and redemption for those led to evil.
Daughter of Lolth and Shaytas and twin to Vhaerun. When the Drow gods betrayed the Fae Lords and were cast into the Underdark, Eilistraê chose to go with them, hoping her light could guide them back.
Among her Drow followers, Eilistraê is a goddess of a hope to return to the surface world in peace, of a hope to bring love and harmony to the cruel Drow societies, and of song and mastery. She is associated with moonlight, her prime form of worship being dancing in its glow.
Among most other societies, Eilistraê is little understood, seen as yet another Drow deity. The most common understanding of Eilistraê is by her title of Moonwitch, as her followers are known to gather to dance naked in the moonlight. Some do however view Eilistraê as a goddess devoted to aiding the oppressed and promoting peace and harmony.
Eilistraê is strongly associated with the moon, and especially moon- and starlight.
