Principality of Borough

An egalitarian farming community with an elected and symbolic Prince. Borough is a picturesque and abundant farmland with small hamlets and villages scattered throughout. Its people are famously peaceful and avoid conflict with their neighbours.

The Prince of Borough only holds their position for a short tenure. Once a decade, the hamlets of borough meet to elect a prince for the next decade. The positing is mostly symbolic, the prince or princess being an outward representative. The prince's most important function, according to the denizens of Borough, is hosting the annual Harvest Festival.
