Flourmanie

In western Asdar lies the old and customed Kingdom of Flourmanie. In this fiercely feudal society the farmers plow their fields, the virtuous knights roam the land in search of deeds, the nobles rule from their great courts, and above them all is the royal king.

To outsiders Flourmanie can appear far too traditional, rejecting change from their esoteric customs and systems. The Flourmani consider their land and systems immutable, stable, and strong. Their systems have kept the kingdom strong for centuries and reinforced the position of the nobility. Yet it also makes thee Flourmani wary of change and outsiders. Few outsiders are readily accepted into Flourmanie, especially those of uncommon race, kept at bay by the roaming knights.

The Flourmani idealise Chivalry, Nobility, and Valour, placing these virtues above all else. Both a Flourmani knight and peasant may rather duel to the death than have them put in question. Acting according to chivalrous codes, making and keeping ones oaths, and upholding the rightful hierarchy of the land is paramount to a noble of Flourmanie. These ideals are however perhaps most adhered to in the Flourmani heartlands, that is, the Crownlands, the Flowing Hills, and Chartres. In other parts of Flourmanie and the Westrûn lands, the ideals are often muddled by pragmatism and sen-kind nature.

In terms of real-world culture, Flourmanie can be seen as a mix of medieval fantastical French and English.
