Flourmani Castes

Nobles

Knights

Merchants

Somewhat rising caste though has been kept strongly in check by the nobility for decades already.

Professionals

Skilled craftsmen, mages, bards. Sought after and generally outside the binds of serfdom. Many are free to wander yet lords readily seek to employ them.

Peasants

By far the largest portion of the population, the peasants of Flourmanie are tied to the land in serfdom and to their noble lords in overlordship. Most living in small villages or hamlets, the peasants of Flourmanie rarely meet peoples from far away and may usually count each person they know as a cousin in some degree. Some revere the nobles and knights, some despise them, yet all know to be wary. Having as many rights as their noble lord deems necessary, the peasantry are often extorted for extra taxes, enforced labour, or war with neighbouring lords.

Bravados

Seen as brigands by some, icons of freedom by others, the bravado have removed themselves from the constraints of serfdom to become wanderers, free workers, or mercenaries. While some wander the countryside, the bravados are most common in the trade-minded towns and cities.

Outcasts

Races and Creature Types distrusted and spurned by the Flourmani.
