Grand Temple of Helia in Taverna

The grand temple to Helia in Taverna

The grand temple of Helia stands prominently in Taverna, made up a grand cathedral with a monastery extending in a square behind it.

The temple is also the headquarters of the cult’s Inquisitors.

This awe-inspiring structure stands proudly at the heart of a bustling city, its front resembling a majestic cathedral adorned with intricate carvings that depict the tales of valour and triumph in the name of Helia. As you approach the temple, you are greeted by a grand staircase lined with statues of legendary warriors, whose faces bear expressions of determination and heroism. The entrance is flanked by towering pillars, each ablaze with eternal flames.

Stepping inside, you find yourself in a vast, cavernous space with a high vaulted ceiling. The air is infused with the lingering scent of incense and the faint echo of prayers offered by devotees seeking the blessings of Helia. Silent paladins of the Goddess stand vigil within the temple, holding golden spears dedicated to their Lady. The main hall is adorned with ornate tapestries and stained glass windows that bathe the interior in vibrant hues of gold, red, and orange, representing the radiant glory of the Goddess and the ardour of her followers. An enormous statue of Helia stands at the centre of the hall, her eyes ablaze with flame. Throughout the temple, the flickering flames symbolize the eternal spirit of the Lady of Fire and the indomitable will of her followers

Beyond the main hall lies the sanctuary, an area reserved for the clergy and initiated devotees. Here, rituals and sacred ceremonies are conducted to honor the Goddess and seek her guidance. Elaborate altars are dedicated to specific aspects of Helia's power, adorned with offerings from her followers.

Extending from the main hall of the temple is its Monastery of the Eternal Flame. Its design reflects the tranquillity of a secluded sanctuary, providing space for the temple's resident monks and scholars. They dedicate their lives to the study of Helia's teachings and the martial arts, honing their skills and disciplining their minds in her name. The Monastery also houses a vast library that preserves ancient tomes, chronicling the tales of glorious battles and the wisdom of conquest throughout history. Here, seekers of knowledge and enlightenment come to learn from the sacred texts and the wise mentors who guide them.
