The Astral Sea, also known as the Astral Plane and the Void, is a place beyond the realities of the other planes of the cosmos. The Astral Sea appears like an endless still sea in near total darkness. This sea is the other side of reality, what lies behind existence. The Astral exists just beyond every other plane.
Portals to other planes exist in the Astral Sea, appearing like whirlpools of a certain colour. Submerging into these pools can allow a traveller to pass back into reality.
Time does not ravage travellers on the Astral Sea, but time spent here does equate time passing in the cosmos. A denizen of the Astral Sea will not age, tire, or develop somatically, and may even have trouble healing.
Few but strange beings dwell in the Astral Sea.
