The Oathslayer was once a mortal tiefling named Konni. He had begun his life among the upper classes of Genetsa, the oldest son of the head of the Folam family, but left this life to become a paladin of Helia in Ajuraas. After running afoul of the Pharaoh Omarisi, he once again left, joining up with a party of adventurers in Kantvar.

After seeing the destruction wrought by Tavernenland and its paladins of Helia, Konni renounced his Oath before a statue of the Lady of Flame in Taverna. As an Oathbreaker, he would embrace the The Sacrilegious Herald.

Beneath the Markolak Mountains, Konni came upon the crypt containing the Devil Azamail. As half his companions fell under the charm of the fallen angel while the rest lay dying by his blade, Konni offered to form a pact with Azamail to save his friends and to oppose the goddess Helia together.

Under the pact of Azamail, Konni would bring an Infernal Legion onto the Mortal Plane to oppose his enemies and take on the powers of his patron, all the while attempting to balance the morality of his actions. He spent much of his focus on shielding his friends, allies, and especially the young girl Elly from the horrors of his pact.

At the Battle of the Moonlit Vale, Konni defended his and his companions' home from the invading army of Tavernenland. He would face the Knight of the Eternal Flame Edelstan Weser on the field, holding his ground for much of the battle, before the radiant flame of Helia struck him dead.

Torn between the pull of the Shadowfell as an Oathbreaker and the Nine Hells by his pact, the soul of Konni was split upon his death. Half would go to the dark as the Gloomseeker and half into the service of Azamail as the Oathslayer.

Appearance

Tall middle aged purple tiefling, long horns curling upwards. Black eyes. White beard.

Clad in heavy plate armour of infernal steel, with golden decorations. Red cape. Carries an imposing greatsword and a shield.
