The Khanate's Land Action Chronicles

Here lies the chronicles of the Khanate's campaigns. May their deeds be told through out the ages.

Year of the Snake - 2025
Jan - Winter Council

As the snow-laden winds swept across the land, the great halls of the Winter Council echoed with voices of alliance and ambition—yet notably absent were the representatives of the Vidar Khanate. While others convened beneath banners of peace and progress, the Ordu turned inward.

Raging storms in the steppe and tremors of unrest among the tribes have compelled the Great Khan to draw his warriors close. The absence of Vidarians from this year's Council was not one of indifference, but necessity. The Khan’s hand has been forced to the hilt, as both internal rebellion and whispers of darker things rise within the Khanate’s vast dominion.!!

🏛️ Message from the Golden Court of the Khanate

To the Esteemed Leaders of Osterra,

The biting chill of these winter months has brought both triumph and tribulation to the Khanate. Victories over the scourge of pirates and the insidious cultists stand as testament to the might and vigilance of the Ordu. Yet, amidst these laurels of conquest, shadows have fallen upon the steppes.

Some among the nomadic tribal leaders, once loyal to the Khanate, have chosen the path of rebellion. Their grievances are manifold—discontent with our engagement in foreign affairs and a lustful hunger for the wealth amassed upon these sacred lands. The Great Khan, ever resolute, has summoned the full strength of the horde to extinguish this threat and restore order.

Graver still are the whispers that ride upon the wind—rumors of a dark and chaotic force festering within our borders. The taint of those who worship chaos and other fell powers threatens to spread like a sickness. Rest assured, the Khanate will confront this menace with unwavering resolve, for the preservation of our lands and our people is paramount.

The Great Khan extends his blessings of fortune and strength to this seasonal Council. May the deliberations of Osterra be guided by wisdom and unity, as the trials of this age demand nothing less.

In strength and vigilance,
Vidar Khan

Feb - 3112 (brigands/pirates)

As winter deepened and storms battered the coast, the Khanate pressed onward—driven not by the comfort of hearths, but by duty, and the shadow of chaos looming across Osterra. Tasked with meeting the allied Osterran forces to strike against the growing cultist threat, Vidar Khan’s retinue braved the treacherous passes of the Sasagaan Mountains, where snow blinded the eyes and the wind threatened to tear the soul from the body.

⚓ Whispers in the Salt-Wind – The Pirates of the Eastern Shore

As the Ordu descended from the mountains toward the coast, they found a village nestled by the sea, battered by salt and time. The Khan's retinue, weary and frostbitten, sought food and shelter. Yet even as the Khan’s presence loomed large over the town, the fear in the villagers’ eyes seemed rooted not in awe—but in something else.

That night, Vargr, Vizier to the Khan, stepped out beneath the moonlight to patrol the outskirts. A flicker of firelight from the edge of the cliffside led him to a makeshift camp. There, among jagged rocks and sea-washed driftwood, he found the remnants of a pirate crew—survivors from the fallen Principality of Nuln. They bore the desperate look of men with nothing left but rusted blades and shattered pride.

Vargr, with his signature calm and gravitas, extended mercy.

“Your lords are ash, your fleet lies beneath the sea. Swear your oaths anew and live under the Khan’s banner. Defy us, and you will not see another sunrise.”

But desperation breeds foolishness. The pirates, racked by fear and madness, refused. With a guttural cry, they charged the retinue. The result was swift and merciless. The Khanate’s discipline carved through them like a storm through reeds. Their blood painted the snow crimson. None survived.

🔥 The Siege That Never Was – Battle Against the Cultists

At last, the Khan’s forces met with the Osterran alliance—knights, mages, scouts, and all manner of defenders of the realm. Together, they uncovered fragments of the Mad King Foster’s ravings—insane, yet laced with the forbidden truths of Chromatic Magic.

embedded image

The cultists, having deciphered parts of these secrets, launched a bold plan to seize a siege engine—one capable of piercing even the ancient bones of the Worldspine Mountains. Had they succeeded, it would have unleashed a catastrophic breach into the dark dominions beyond.

The battle was fierce. Cultists, warped creatures, and fell demons fell upon the alliance like a tidal wave of nightmares. For the Khanate, who bore little magic among their ranks, the cost was grievous. Many of the Ordu perished—burned by sorcery, torn by talons, driven mad by visions not meant for mortal minds.

embedded image

But none struck deeper than what Vidar and Vargr saw amidst the chaos—Ulfric Bey, once kin, now clad in infernal armor, leading the enemy host with unholy fury.

Could it truly have been him?
A trick of the shadows? A mask worn by a demon?
The battle was won—but the questions remained.

And so the Khanate marches onward, its soul burdened not only with blood, but doubt.

Mar - 3113 (Troll pirate captain)

The air was thick with brine, smoke, and the scent of desperation.
Nestled in a rocky alcove beneath the cliffs, a smuggler’s cache was uncovered—trollhide sacks half-buried in sea-spray and silt. At its center stood a grotesque figure: a massive Troll Captain, crusted with barnacles, seaweed, and arrogance, flanked by the last surviving pirates of Nuln.

Their eyes gleamed with fear as Vargr Bey stepped forward, his blade resting on his shoulder, flanked by Osrick and Kruger Van Drachenstein.

Before the battle began, Vargr once again extended an offer: surrender, and serve the Khan.
They chose death.

🪓 The Clash

The battle was swift—and ridiculous in its violence.

Osrick and Vargr moved like twin wolves. While the troll lunged, Osrick circled to the side, grabbed its twisted limb and bellowed, “Now!”
Vargr stepped in, driving a gauntleted fist square into the troll’s chin with a bone-rattling CRACK.
Dazed and reeling, the beast stumbled backward—right to the cliff’s edge.

Then came Kruger.

With a battle cry only a madman or legend could muster, Kruger soared through the air and delivered the “Khan’s Elbow”, a flying arc of flaming vengeance that crashed into the troll’s spine. The force of it sent the creature tumbling over the cliff in a wail of surprise and pain.

The troll definitely was still alive when it went down. Just ask Kruger. He’ll tell the story better with a drink in hand.

The impact of the troll’s fall narrowly missed Quinton, the loyal (and increasingly terrified) hireling, who now carries the honorific title "Trollbait" in Khanate records.

🏴 Aftermath: Smoke, Spoils, and Scorched Secrets

Though some pirates fled amidst the chaos, the rest were swiftly cut down by the Khanate’s advance parties. They should’ve taken the deal.

In the aftermath, the Vidarians seized the smugglers’ hoard:

  • 🥖 Crates of Food (a bit salty now)

  • 🐉 10 Gold Dragons

  • 🧟 Singed Troll Parts (possibly edible)

  • 📜 A Burned Parchment Note bearing a Blue Horizon wax seal

  • ⚓ Tattered Emblems of Nuln

No ships were spotted on the horizon. Only the crashing of the tide and the smoldering remains of defiance.

For now, the coast is under Khanate control.
Perhaps the Great Khan will see fit to fortify this region and turn the tide of pirate incursions once and for all...

📜 Chronicles of the Steppe — The Vidar Khanate

The Bog Witch’s Curse & Ulfric’s Betrayal

The mists rose thick and cloying in the cursed marshes to the west, a land left untouched by sun or sanity. There, beneath the blackened willows and whispering reeds, the Khanate and its allies met their greatest wound—not by enemy blade, but from the treachery of their own blood.

The journey began with a message—sent by Ulfric Bey, the Resplendent, once brother-in-arms to the Khan. It spoke of knowledge, of arcane insight, of allies and warnings. But Vidar Khan, ever sharp and wary, sensed a foulness beneath the gilded words.

Despite the omens, duty drew them in.

🌫️ Through the Drowned Paths

Rowan, Ulfred, Arwyn, Vargr, Vidar, and Ulfric entered the bog together.
Even before the traps, the air hung with an oppressive stillness. The cries of distant birds fell silent. The mist clung like fingers.

It was Rowan who triggered the first trap—spikes rising from black water, narrowly missing their mark. From then, the marsh seemed alive, breathing and watching.

Three of the Drowned, foul remnants of the Bog Witch’s magic, rose from the mire. The party fought tooth and blade to fell them, but the toll was beginning.

As they pressed deeper, the group splintered.

Ulfric and Vargr approached a strange, vine-choked drawbridge gate, carved with ancient runes.
“I’ll go first,” Ulfric said as he entered the gloom.
Vargr took the time to meditate. While the rest of the Khan's retinue were making their way around the bog. Not long after did Ulfric Return.

embedded image

Suddenly, with a flash of steel, Ulfric turned on Vargr, slashing across his side with his sabre. The two dueled beneath the rotting arch, blade against blade, bey against bey.

From within the reeds, Ulfric shouted an order:

“Arwyn! Take their hands. All of them.”

Madness followed.

The Drowned returned, in scores. The dead rose to serve a new master.

Rowan, driven by desperation, shoved Arwyn into one of the same traps he had barely survived—causing Arwyn to descend into a savage frenzy.

Ulfric and Vargr’s duel turned deadly. The traitor’s blade cleaved Vargr’s hand from his arm. Wounded and burning, Vargr stumbled into the gate.

Vidar, furious and unwavering, carved a path through the undead to reach his brother. As Ulfric rained minor cuts upon him, the Khan fought with the fury of an empire betrayed.

Then—Vargr returned.

From the gate, he emerged bloodied but unbroken, the corpse of the Bog Witch clenched at the end of his maimed arm, her jaw still locked around where his fist once was. In his other, he held his severed hand.

Side by side, the Khan and his brother descended upon Ulfric with vengeance in every stroke.

Behind them:

  • Rowan lay dying, blood soaking into the mire.

  • Ulfred stood like a bulwark, holding off the swarm of drowned with his shield arm alone.

  • Arwyn, maddened and broken, was cast aside by Ulfred’s fury.

Outmatched and cornered, Ulfric leapt into the black moat, hoping the darkness would hide his shame. But Vidar followed, slashing deep into the traitor’s side before they surfaced.

“What shall we do with him, my Khan?” Vargr asked, blood and smoke on his breath.
“Bring him back to the Capital. We will deal with him there.”

🏛️ Proclamation from the Golden Court of the Khanate

By decree of the Khan, may his reign be unchallenged and his herds never dwindle,
Let it be known to all lords, chieftains, and sovereign peoples of Osterra:

Ulfric Bey the Resplendent, once a sworn servant and brother of the saddle,
Is hereby stripped of all titles, honors, and his seat within the Golden Court of the Khan.
His name shall no longer echo in our yurts, nor shall his shadow fall upon our banners.

He has been found guilty of high treason, and his deeds are as black as the smoke from a burned steppelander’s tent.

His crimes are thus declared before gods and men:

  • Ignoring the Khan's summons to war.

  • Turning a deaf ear to the cries of the blood-oath and abandoning his kin in times of steel and fire.

  • Worshipping false gods, whose very names are cursed, whose powers have brought ruin and foulness to our sacred ones.

  • Taking up arms against the Khanate, standing beside the enemy like a jackal among wolves, biting the hand that once fed him.

Let no realm shelter him. Let no hearth welcome him. Let no banner fly his colors.
The winds of the steppe howl his name in shame.
His legacy ends where his betrayal began.

Let it be known. Let it be remembered. Let it be obeyed.
— By the hand of Altan, Emissary of the Great Khan,
Bringer of Judgment to the Realms of Osterra

Year of the Dragon - 2024
Jan - Winter Council

As the winter chill settled over the lands of Osterra, the Bey's Ulfric and Vargr, emissaries of the Vidarian Khanate, made their solemn journey to attend the esteemed Winter Council. With the air thick with anticipation, they stood before the assembled lords and ladies to announce the imminent arrival of the Year of the Dragon. In honor of this auspicious occasion, they declared that a grand Lantern Festival would illuminate the Rites of Spring, a celebration fitting for the majestic beasts that roamed the skies.

Yet, amidst the festivities, a somber note was struck as the Bey's Ulfric and Vargr revealed a stern decree: henceforth, their emissaries would bear gerege, symbols of their authority, and any assault on those carrying them would be met with the full force of war. This proclamation underscored the Khanate's unwavering commitment to safeguarding their envoys and ensuring peace across the realms.

embedded image

However, the atmosphere grew tense as the Bey's Ulfric and Vargr voiced their discontent with the traditions of the Knights and the rule of the Mad King Foster. With fiery resolve, they issued a challenge to Sir Tanos, a prominent Knight, to a duel at the upcoming Rites of Spring. Furthermore, they proposed a motion to forbid all attendees, including Knights, from bearing arms at the Great Council, citing concerns of impartiality. This motion, however, was met with resistance and ultimately tabled until the Rites of Spring.

Thus, amidst the clash of wills and the anticipation of the coming festivities, the Winter Council of Osterra bore witness to the unfolding drama, setting the stage for a momentous gathering at the Rites of Spring.

Feb - 2516 (Trolls)

In the lead-up to the looming campaign against Nuln in the South, the army of the Khanate had spent months laying siege to the pirate city, employing the cunning tactics of nomadic warfare against their adversary. However, weary of the confines of the siege camp, the Khan himself ventured forth with a small retinue to partake in a hunt.

embedded image

As they journeyed a few miles from the city, they unexpectedly encountered a trio of wild trolls. Recognizing the peril these creatures posed to his army, the Khan wasted no time in engaging them alongside his warriors. With swift and decisive action, they managed to vanquish the trolls, but the threat was far from over. Knowing that trolls possess the ability to regenerate, the warrior Shaman Arwyn Ironfounderson intervened, ensuring their demise by setting them ablaze one by one. Thus, the Khan and his retinue triumphed over this unexpected encounter, safeguarding their forces from the menace of the trolls.

Mar - 2716 (Undead horde)

Upon a misty and damp morn, the Khan, in his sovereignty, oversees the convoy of provisions near the venerable City of Nuln and The White Raven Hold of Tidewater. Suddenly, as if from the unseen shadows, a swift scout approaches the Khan, bearing news of an accursed band of undead lurking amidst ancient ruins. With resolve, the Khan, accompanied by Kruger, Quinn, Arwyn, Osrick, and Tam, mount their steeds and hasten towards the decrepit edifice.
At the forsaken ruins, they encounter a legion of skeletal minions, commanded by a nefarious Undead necromancer. The sole passage across lies upon a crumbling stone bridge. Quinn, Tam, and Arwyn endeavor a stealthy traverse, yet Arwyn's presence is betrayed, instigating a pursuit by the relentless skeletons. Vidar and Osrick valiantly defend Arwyn's retreat from the other side, dispatching a few foes to the abyss below. Meanwhile, Kruger, his bow taut with determination, aims at the necromancer from afar. Though his first initial arrow falters, the subsequent strikes find their mark. The second arrow he looses wounds the Necromancer's leg and the third finally pierces the Necromancer's arrow; felling the dark sorcerer and thus quelling his unholy minions.

Having plundered the necromancer's remains, the Khan and his retinue depart the ruins with their spoils. Yet, as they turn away, a shadow of foreboding lingers upon the Khan's brow, a portent of darker omens yet to unfold.

Apr - 2616 (Pirates of Nuln)

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a fiery glow upon the horizon, the Vidarian Khanate assembled its vast army outside the walls of the pirate capital, Nuln. Led by the indomitable Vidar Khan, the Khanate forces were joined by allies from far and wide, including the Tharrosians, Blackthorne Company, and the Court of Ashes. Together, they encircled the city, their siege engines thundering as they launched volleys of projectiles into the heart of the pirate stronghold.
Scaling the towering walls with the agility of mountain goats, Khanate scalers breached the defenses, while bardic magics by Bard King Undar and Vargr Bey with the strength of a giant aided a daring assault on the city's docks. Amidst the chaos of battle, a small force managed to board and seize one of the pirate ships, turning its sails against its former masters.

But the defenders of Nuln were not so easily vanquished. Led by the infamous Captain Rory and bolstered by undead allies, they fought tooth and nail to repel the invaders. As the battle raged on, a fearsome dragon, Vertrimax, descended upon the Khanate army, unleashing a devastating strafing run that sent warriors scattering in terror.
Undeterred, the Khanate troops rallied, using a battering ram to breach the city gate. Krugr van Drachenstein managed to take the standard of the Pirates, signaling their defeat. With victory within their grasp, Captain Rory, sensing defeat, fled with several ships, only to be intercepted by the swift and deadly White Ravens. In the end, the pirate capital of Nuln fell to the Vidarian Khanate, a testament to their strength, determination, and unwavering resolve.

May

In the wake of the siege of Nuln, the Vidarian Khanate embarked upon the arduous task of rebuilding the city they had valiantly fought to capture. The battle had left a third of Nuln's population slain by the Khan's troops, while the Khanate itself had suffered the loss of over a quarter of its ordu (army). More executions of pirates took place within Nuln in the next weeks with remnants of Rory's marauders still attacking the Khan's troops. With determination and resilience, the city was rechristened Kishahr, meaning "boat city," by the Khanate nomads, marking a new era in its history.

In gratitude for their unwavering support throughout the siege, the Blackthorne Company was rewarded with a commandeered pirate ship. Additionally, by the end of May, a warship called the Iron Turtle that was commissioned by the Khan had successfully reached the port of Kishahr from Tonghai. Over the next three months, Vidar Khan dedicated himself to restoring Kishahr to its former glory as a vital southern trading port, ensuring its prosperity and significance within the Khanate.

Dude we're still rebuilding this damn city.

July - 2915 (illithid threat)

Ulfric Bey, a trusted Vizier of Vidar Khan, led a small retinue alongside the formidable Blackthorne Mercenary Company to the village of Bazgush, nestled in the Sasagaan mountains and bordering the territories of the White Raven faction. It had been some time since the Khan had received word from this crucial mountain trading town, now under the influence of the Khanate. The Khan, concerned for the well-being of his people and the stability of his realm, dispatched Ulfric Bey to investigate.

(Below: Blackthorne company in battle against Illithids)

On his journey to represent the Khanate at the Osterran Summer Council Festival, Ulfric Bey and his retinue encountered an unexpected challenge. Nearing the village of Bazgush, they were mysteriously shrunk to a fraction of their normal size. The only exception was BT, the Khan’s loyal squirrel guard, who remained at his usual height. Now the size of their furry warrior companion, Ulfric and the Blackthorne Mercenaries pressed on, only to confront three illithids and their thralls—monstrous creatures driven by a lust for domination and terror. A fierce battle erupted, pushing Ulfric and his companions to their limits. Against all odds, they fought with bravery and skill, ultimately vanquishing the illithids and liberating the village from their sinister control before finally returning to their original sizes.

Aug - 2815 (5 adventurers)

Upon hearing reports of Illithids encroaching upon Khanate lands, Vidar Khan, stationed in the newly renamed city of Kishahr, dispatched a small detachment led by himself to the mountain village of Bazgush to confer with Vizier Vargr. As they journeyed through the rugged terrain, the Khan's retinue encountered a group of adventurers, hailing from either across the distant seas of Nova Regnus or fresh from an unknown portal.

These strangers, five in number and well-armed, bore a distinct air of hostility, with a mage among them appearing to lead. Curious but cautious, Vidar Khan sent Mork, the healer of the retinue, to approach and speak with the travelers. However, as Mork extended a greeting, he was struck down by a blade, triggering a swift and fierce skirmish. The Khan's forces, with their discipline and skill, quickly subdued the aggressors, tended to Mork's wounds, and continued their mission undeterred.

Sep - 2315 (7 tribesmen)

In Autumn of the Year of the Dragon, Vidar Khan set forth with his Ordu to unite the steppe tribes and track down the wanted orc, Ratbag. His path led to the village of Khökhbatuul, where the tribe’s warriors challenged his army. The battle was fierce, steel clashing against steel under the vast skies of the steppe.

embedded image

But as swords rang out, an enormous flea-like monster emerged, drawn by the chaos. It devoured the metal weapons of both armies and was impervious to their steel. Realizing the danger, Vidar turned his warriors’ focus to the new threat, ordering them to use wooden and magical weapons. Led by the Arataan Anchin, the

Khanate’s renowned beast hunters, they brought the creature down.
After the beast's fall, the Khökhbatuul tribe, awed by Vidar’s leadership, pledged loyalty to the Khanate. The monster’s corpse was taken to King Nezmear for study, while Vidar Khan continued his quest, his legend growing with every victory.

Oct - 2415 Old tribesmen and Powerful Cultists

The Khan’s Pact with the Herder Village

After the battle with the Khökhbatuul tribe, Vidar Khan led a small detachment of his Ordu back across the steppes, mapping the route from the tribal village to Kishahr. On the road, the Khan’s retinue came across a strange herder village, populated by elderly men and fine horses the likes of which none had ever seen. Despite the Khan’s banners flying high, no young warriors greeted them. Instead, two mysterious young women, the village’s spokespeople, boldly approached the Khan.

After hearing of the village’s struggle with stolen horses, Vidar Khan asked only for their pledge of loyalty to the Khanate, offering them protection in return. However, the women, with cautious trust, offered something more—a promise to send the Khan one of their prized steeds, said to be the finest on the steppe, in exchange for a courier to check on their village from time to time.

With this pact, the village of old men and swift horses became part of the Khanate, solidifying the Khan’s influence and securing an invaluable alliance on his march against the coming darkness. Along their journey, they encountered Artorius of the Cast and envoys from the Grimfrost, who sought to recruit the Khan in their fight against the cultists of He Who Eats. The cultists had begun dark rituals across Osterra, aiming to summon the Great Devourer, a threat that the Khan’s shamans had long warned him of. Without delay, Vidar readied his warriors to confront this looming menace.

The Epic of Baidar Khan and the Battle Against the Devourer's Cult

With the village behind them, the Khan and his warriors pressed onward, driven by grim news from across the realm. The Cultists of He Who Eats were everywhere, and the land was bathed in the blood of countless battles. Victory favored the allied forces of Osterra, yet the shadow of defeat loomed still. In the heart of this struggle, the White Ravens, Vidar's steadfast allies, had suffered a grievous blow. The force led by Garon Ironrock failed in stopping the cultists ritual. Their town, New Montefort, had been consumed by the dark magic of a completed ritual, leaving nothing but ruin in its wake. The devastation was swift, the cries of the dying snuffed out in an instant.

Anger burned within each warriors chest, for they knew that their people and lands could be next if the Cultists were not stopped. With Grimfrost at his side, the Khan marched toward the realm-between-realms, where the veil between life and death was thin and the Cultists' foul magic reached its zenith. There, at the nexus of realms, the Cultists awaited, their dark rituals in full swing. The alliance knew their numbers were few, but the power they wielded was great.

Desperate messages flew across the lands of Osterra, pleading for the remaining forces of the warriors from every corner of the realm. In answer to this call, armies of almost every faction rallied under the banner of vengeance, united by a single purpose—to prevent the Devourer from stepping into their world. As the armies gathered, Baidar Khan stood before them, his voice thundering like the storm winds of his homeland. “Warriors of the realms!” he cried, his words carrying across the fields. “We stand before an enemy of darkness. These cultists have already taken New Montefort. They will claim no more!”

embedded image

With the blast of war horns and the roars of warriors, the charge began. The Cultists had erected a mighty ward around their ritual site, an impenetrable barrier of magic that shielded them from the approaching army. But Vidar Khan had foreseen this. He called forth Krugr, a sorcerer of the Ordu, who bore a scroll of ancient power. With words that echoed through the very fabric of the realms, Krugr shattered the ward in a brilliant flash of light, casting aside the Cultists' defenses.

Then, with the tactics of the nomads, the allied forces feigned retreat, luring the Cultists into pursuit. It was a mistake the enemy would not live to regret. The Ordu and their allies turned on their heels, reforming into a deadly wedge that drove deep into the heart of the Cultist lines. Steel met flesh as the warriors of the steppe cut down their foes with unmatched ferocity. The banner of the enemy fell first, trampled beneath the hooves of Baidar’s steed. Then, the Cultist leader, his voice cut short by a blade to the throat, his ritual forever silenced.

The darkness was lifted, and the threat of the Devourer was banished once more. The armies of Osterra had won the day, and the Grimfrost stood victorious, their names to be remembered in the songs of the ages.

Nov - The ruins of New Monteforte

Journey into the New Monteforte Ruins

After defeating the cultists of the Great Devourer, Vidar Khan returned to Kishahr, only to learn of the destruction of the White Raven Colony of New Monteforte. Determined to uncover its fate, he led a small relief force, aided by the Grimfrost and the wizard Zio, who had narrowly escaped the ruins before.

The journey revealed a cursed wasteland. Within New Monteforte’s shattered walls, the Khan and his retinue found no survivors—only twisted demons and monstrous abominations. Battling through shifting labyrinths and relentless horrors, they uncovered the colony’s fate: total corruption by dark rituals.

Barely escaping with their lives, with the navigation skills of the rogue Quinn; the survivors returned to Kishahr. Vidar Khan declared the ruins an unholy ground, vowing never to return and warning all to stay away from the cursed remains of New Monteforte.

Dec - 2214 (20 orcs and goblins), 2314 (5 tribesmen)

The Vidarian Khanate’s campaign in the steppes reached a turning point when word came of an orc war party, three times their number, advancing on the village of Shakhet. Despite the odds, Vidar Khan’s elite retinue, a force of seasoned warriors forged in countless battles, stood undaunted. Comprised of swift horse archers, heavily armored lancers, and shrewd tacticians, they moved with precision to fortify the village and prepare an ambush. As the orcs descended, the retinue’s cohesion and discipline transformed the chaos of war into a symphony of calculated strikes.

The battle erupted with ferocious intensity as the retinue’s horse archers harried the advancing orcs, sowing confusion and splitting their ranks. The lancers waited in perfect silence until the moment came to charge, smashing into the disoriented horde with devastating force. Each member of the retinue fought with the precision of a blade in the Khanate’s arsenal, their unity outshining the raw power of the orc warband. At the center of the chaos, Vidar Khan confronted the orc war leader, while his troops holds the line against waves of attackers with unyielding resolve.

When the dust settled, the field bore witness to the retinue’s unmatched prowess. Though outnumbered, their cunning and courage had shattered the orcs, leaving the steppes littered with the remains of the defeated. The victory was a testament not only to their skill in battle but also to the unbreakable bond of warriors who fought as one. Their deeds in the defense of Shakhet would become legend, ensuring the Vidarian Khanate’s dominance in the steppes for generations.

Year of the Rabbit - 2023

  • Jan - 2710 Winter Council (three Giants)

Meeting with orcs:

Vidar Khan, recognizing the plight of the semi-nomadic orcs whose homes were ravaged by the conflict with Ferdinand, embarked on a diplomatic mission to the Orc lands. Mounted on his trusty steed, he traversed the rugged terrain to reach the heart of orc territory. There, he sought an audience with Major Drunn, a prominent nomadic leader among the orcs. The nomad-to-nomad connection held deep significance for Vidar Khan, who understood the challenges of a mobile lifestyle.

In a gesture of solidarity, Vidar Khan extended an olive branch to Major Drunn, expressing empathy for the hardships faced by the orcish tribes. He proposed a mutually beneficial alliance, emphasizing the shared nomadic spirit that bound their cultures. Vidar Khan's diplomatic finesse and understanding of the orcish way of life laid the foundation for a potential coalition between the Vidarian Khanate and the orcish tribes, fostering a newfound sense of unity in the face of common challenges.

Meeting with elves:

(below: Ulfric Bey)

In the wake of the mysterious disappearance of seven lumber workers from the town of Chugol, Vidar Khan recognized the need for diplomatic resolution with the elves. Concerned about the escalating tensions, he, accompanied by trusted advisors Ragnar and Ulfrik Bey, convened a meeting with two elven council members. Also present were delegates from the Irregulars and Prismatic Troupe, who, despite not being officially invited by the Khanate, sought to influence the discussions.

The talks, however, took an unfortunate turn as both sides failed to find common ground. The elven council members were unable to provide satisfactory answers regarding the missing workers, and the interference of the uninvited elven factions further complicated the negotiations. Frustrated by the lack of cooperation and transparency, Vidar Khan made the difficult decision to declare war on the elves, viewing it as a necessary measure to protect his people and maintain the sovereignty of the Vidarian Khanate. Thus, the diplomatic quest turned into a precursor for a conflict that would shape the future of relations between the Khanate and the elven realms.

Giants:

As the Vidarian Khanate's retinue made their way through the elven forest after a meeting with the elves, Ulfrick Bey, riding ahead, spotted three colossal figures in the distance. Before he could warn the party, the giants unleashed a barrage of massive stones. The party deftly dodged the projectiles, but Ulfrick's horse took a hit, injuring him. Ragnar, ever the healer, quickly tended to Ulfrick's wounds, ensuring he was fit for the ensuing battle.

Undeterred by the initial attack, the Khan's retinue charged at the giants. Ragnar, Ulfrick, and Balista engaged the first giant, and a fierce melee ensued. Despite the giant managing to injure Ragnar and Ulfrick, the combined efforts of the trio resulted in significant wounds to the colossal adversary. Meanwhile, Vidar Khan confronted the second giant, showcasing his unparalleled horsemanship. With a swift and precise series of strikes, he disabled the giant by slicing through its legs and ultimately delivering a fatal blow to its throat.

The third giant emerged from the trees, bellowing in confusion and aggression. Vidar Khan, recognizing the need for diplomacy, raced back to the injured first giant, holding his sword threateningly at its throat. The third giant demanded to know their identity and intentions. Vidar Khan, with a commanding presence, declared, "I am Vidar Khan! I want you to stand down!"

A tense moment passed before the giants, acknowledging the might of Vidar Khan and the resilience of his party, agreed to halt their aggression. Vidar Khan, ever the strategist, proposed an alliance. The giants, impressed by both his strength and diplomacy, chose to join forces with the Vidarian Khanate in their war against the elves. The elven forest bore witness to this unexpected coalition, as man and giant stood united against a common enemy.

Vidarian Elf war:

The tension between the Vidarian Khanate and the elves reached a crucial juncture, and in a bid to avert full-scale war, a diplomatic honor duel was proposed. The elves, represented by their skilled warriors and guided by Lady Althea, engaged in negotiations with the Vidarian Khanate. With the diplomatic prowess of Vargyr Bey, an agreement was reached: the elves would provide 14 wood per year to the Khanate, thus preventing an outright attack.

However, rather than bloodshed on a battlefield, the two factions opted for an honor duel. This allowed them to settle their differences with a controlled and ritualized conflict. The duel took place in a neutral arena, witnessed by representatives from both sides. The Vidarian Khanate, led by Vidar Khan and his formidable warriors, clashed with the Miskri Elves in a contest of martial skill, strategy, and honor.

In the end, the Vidarian Khanate emerged victorious, demonstrating their strength and securing a measure of honor in the eyes of both their own people and the elves. This duel not only avoided a devastating war but also established a delicate balance between the two factions, acknowledging the prowess of the Vidarian Khanate and fostering a tenuous peace between them and the elves.

Adventurers:

As the nomadic warriors of the Vidarian Khanate patrolled their territory, they stumbled upon a group of five adventurers who had ventured deep into their lands. Vargyr Bey, a seasoned diplomat and warrior, stepped forward to address the intruders. With the winds carrying the tension between the nomads and the adventurers, Vargyr Bey informed them that they were trespassing on Vidarian Khanate land and urged them to turn around.

However, the adventurers, driven by the fervor of their quest, refused to heed the warning. They claimed to be on an important mission that required them to traverse the Khanate's territory. Despite attempts at peaceful dialogue, the situation escalated, and both parties found themselves at an impasse. With words failing to resolve the conflict, the nomad retinue, loyal to the Vidarian Khanate, had no choice but to defend their territory. The Khanate warriors, well-versed in the art of war and the ways of the open plains, clashed with the adventurers, who proved formidable in their own right.

In the end, the adventurers were decimated by the might of the Vidarian Khanate. The clash served as a stark reminder to all who dared to tread on the nomads' sacred lands, underlining the consequences of challenging the warriors of the Khanate in their own domain.

Jun - (7 Ratmen, nuln invasion)

Ratmen and Gidget’s cap:

As Vidar Khan and his small retinue embarked on their journey to the pirate outpost, now under the control of the White Raven faction, they traversed unfamiliar territories with caution. Little did they know that the shadows harbored a horde of ratmen, drawn not by the prospect of war but by a more peculiar craving - the legendary Vidarian cheese curds.

The ambush struck swiftly and without warning. Hordes of ratmen, driven by their insatiable appetite for the unique cheese, swarmed the Khanate's party. In the chaos that ensued, the female dwarven engineer, Gidget, stood out as a formidable force. Renowned for her skills in battle and her determination, she faced the ratmen with unwavering resolve.

Gidget fought valiantly, taking on several ratmen at once. Her mechanical prowess and combat skills were on full display as she thwarted the ratmen's attempts to overrun the Khanate's retinue. However, in the midst of the fierce struggle, Gidget sustained an injury to her knee, a testament to the ferocity of the ratmen and the toll of the battle.

Despite the odds, the Vidarian Khanate emerged victorious, thanks in no small part to Gidget's indomitable spirit. The mountain where the ambush took place, forever marked by Gidget's determination and sacrifice, came to be known as "Gidget's Cap," a symbol of the Khanate's resilience in the face of unexpected challenges. The battle not only secured the Khanate's passage but also added another tale to the epic chronicles of Vidar Khan's adventures.

Rory’s escape:

In the aftermath of a tumultuous sea battle that saw Captain Rory disintegrated by the Tharrosians, dark magic wove its threads again as Valon mages, acting on the orders of King Aethelred, breathed life back into the infamous pirate. However, the joy of resurrection swiftly turned to captivity as Captain Rory found himself under the watchful eyes of the White Ravens, confined within the walls of their newly captured lighthouse.

News of Rory's resurrection reached Vidar Khan, and with a determined retinue of warriors, he set out to escort the pirate captain. The alliance between the Vidarian Khanate and the White Ravens was an uneasy one, and the imminent arrival of a couple of pirate ships added a layer of tension to the already charged atmosphere.

As the pirates landed and approached the lighthouse, they were met with a formidable shield wall formed by the combined forces of the White Ravens and the Vidarian Khanate. A stalemate ensued, with neither side gaining ground. However, the pirates, cunning and resourceful, exploited a secret passageway unknown to all but themselves. They managed to outflank the shield wall, launching a surprise attack from behind.

Witnessing the breach, Vidar Khan quickly signaled Terra of the White Ravens to secure Rory and escape on a ship. The attempt, however, was thwarted by the determined pirates. In the chaos that followed, Captain Rory was seized by his comrades, and they made a daring escape, sailing away from the contested outpost.

The unsuccessful attempt to retrieve Captain Rory strained the already fragile alliance between the Vidarian Khanate and the White Ravens, leaving both factions to reassess their future collaborations as they sailed into uncertain waters.

Year of the Rabbit - 2023

The Dragon Vertrimax:

In response to the mysterious disappearances of merchants along the perilous Sasagaan mountain passes, Vidar Khan took decisive action. He dispatched the skilled Arataan Anchin clan, led by their esteemed leader Tazz, a darga of the Vidarian Khanate, to investigate. The prevailing belief was that the notorious Ezenids, an old adversary, might be behind these disturbances.

After days of tracking through the rugged terrain, the Arataan Anchin stumbled upon a gruesome discovery – a pile of bones, possibly the remnants of the missing merchants. To their awe and trepidation, they also encountered the majestic dragon Vertrimax. The dragon, sensing the hunters' presence, emerged from its lair with an air of authority.

Vertrimax, a creature of immense power, threatened to make a meal of the Arataan Anchin. However, knowing the ancient respect between nomads and dragons, the hunters bowed in reverence before the mighty beast. To appease the dragon and seek its protection, they offered a substantial tribute of 1000 gold pieces, vowing to leave Vertrimax undisturbed in its domain.

The dragon, intrigued by the display of respect and the tempting offer, considered the proposal. After a moment of contemplation, Vertrimax accepted the tribute and the terms of the agreement. In return, the dragon granted the Arataan Anchin safe passage through its territory and pledged its immense power to protect the nomads from future threats.

This unexpected alliance between the Vidarian Khanate and the dragon Vertrimax would reshape the dynamics of the region, as the nomads found themselves under the wing of a formidable ally, while the dragon enjoyed the benefits of both wealth and devoted protectors.

2 giants:

As the Vidarian Khanate embarked on an expedition through the rugged landscapes, their journey led them to the borders of dwarven and orc lands. Little did they know that their path would intersect with the presence of two towering giants. The giants, hungry and menacing, confronted the Khanate warriors, their intention clear: a feast of nomadic flesh.

Undeterred by the giants' threats, the Vidarian Khanate warriors, under the leadership of Vidar Khan, prepared for battle. The clash between the nimble and disciplined Khanate warriors and the towering giants unfolded with a thunderous intensity.

Swift and strategic, the Khanate warriors dodged the giants' massive blows, responding with coordinated strikes. Vidar Khan himself, a formidable leader on the battlefield, engaged one of the giants with a combination of skillful swordplay and strategic maneuvers.

Despite the giants' imposing stature, the Vidarian Khanate warriors proved their mettle. Through a display of courage, teamwork, and martial prowess, they managed to fell the colossal adversaries. The victory resonated through the nomadic ranks, solidifying the Khanate's reputation for overcoming formidable challenges on their expeditions.

Sep - 2616 (War with Nuln)

War on nuln:

In the wake of Captain Rory's daring escape and the subsequent sense of humiliation and rage that gripped Vidar Khan, the Vidarian Khanate found itself on the brink of a full-scale war with the Principality of Nuln. Consumed by a desire for revenge, Vidar Khan returned to his capital city of Kharaat with a singular purpose—to prepare for a mass invasion into Nuln.

Understanding the importance of siege warfare, the Khan commissioned Dwarven engineers to craft formidable siege engines. Advanced parties were dispatched to raid and harass pirate strongholds and villages, weakening the enemy's defenses in anticipation of the looming conflict. The nomadic warriors of the Khanate displayed their prowess in hit-and-run tactics, disrupting the pirates' ability to mount a unified defense.

As the Khan set up a strategic base of operations near the pirate capital of Nuln, tensions escalated. The pirates, refusing to be labeled as mere criminals, sought a parlay with leaders of the Vidarian Khanate and the White Raven faction. Amidst the diplomatic discussions, tempers flared, and the factions engaged in heated arguments over the legitimacy of the conflict.

In a sudden turn of events, frustration gave way to treachery. Pirate assassins, hidden in the shadows, launched a surprise attack on the Khanate and White Raven delegates. Chaos ensued as the factions grappled with the unexpected assault, threatening to escalate the conflict beyond the boundaries of a conventional war.

Simultaneously, back at the Vidarian Khanate base camp, the pirates exploited the distraction by launching a raiding party. Harassing the nomad warriors and seizing vital supplies, the pirates aimed to undermine the Khanate's logistical strength and sow discord among its ranks. The stage was set for a brutal and unpredictable war, with the fate of Nuln hanging in the balance. The Khan would press his attack and besiege the city.

Nov - 3010 (dragon)

Brave and handsome warriors of the Vidarian Khanate marched onto the field, their hearts filled with the desire to expand the borders of their glorious homeland. As they ventured forth, ready to conquer new lands, they were unexpectedly set upon by another dragon. The mighty wyrm, looming large, seemed prepared for battle against the Khanate forces.

However, as the tension on the battlefield reached its peak, the dragon addressed Vargr Knutson, a key figure among the Khanate's leaders. To the warriors' surprise, the dragon revealed itself to be Nagrax of the Grove. Apparently, Nagrax had heard a rumor about the Khanate's penchant for slaying dragons, a misunderstanding that needed swift correction.

After a diplomatic exchange between Vargr Knutson and Nagrax, the truth prevailed, and a peaceful resolution was achieved. Instead of engaging in a destructive battle, the parties involved opted for an honor duel. The mighty warriors of the Vidarian Khanate faced off against Nagrax of the Grove in a contest of strength and skill.

In a resounding display of martial prowess, the Khanate warriors emerged victorious in the honor battle. The defeat of Nagrax not only secured more land for the Vidarian Khanate but also opened the possibility of a conclave of dragons. This unexpected turn of events marked a triumph for the Khanate, as they not only expanded their territories but also forged a potential alliance with a powerful dragon, reshaping the geopolitical landscape once again.

Dec - 3110 (Brigands/dragons)

A Vidarian retinue made their way to the shores of Sasagaan, in hopes to catch ships to travel to the continent of Nova Regnus in search of Tazz, the darga of the Arataan anchin. The Khanate scouting parties faced off against several brigands along the shores just North of Tonghai. These brigands were apparently pirates who were shipwrecked along Khanate shores. They were reportedly cut down by the Khanate troops as a testament to any and all pirates.

Across the sea, the Khan’s Beys made it to the shores of the Cedar Hill, of whom asked for assistance with a dragon in their newly acquired lands. Vargyr, being the esteemed mouth of the Khan, managed to break peace between the dragon and Cedar Hill. And thus the beys were able to continue on their journey.

The search as to the whereabouts of Tazz took a turn when terrible news reached the ears of the Khan’s Beys. In capturing the orc healer Ratbag, they learned that Ratbag had turned the Khan’s Darga into an Orc after he had given him a potion that would make Tazz Stronger. Tazz’s Orc, later known as Chotgar, would be hunted during the Nova Regnus holiday games called trollmas.

Jan - The Winter Council 2712 (no encounter)

The winter seas roared as Vidar Khan's longships sliced through the frigid waters, bound for the distant land of Nova Regnus. The journey was perilous, with icy winds biting at the sails and the crew battling the treacherous waves. Yet, Vidar Khan, a leader hardened by the harsh landscapes of his homeland, sailed with purpose.

Upon reaching the shores of Nova Regnus, Vidar Khan and his entourage were greeted with a mix of curiosity and wariness. The council of Osterra, comprised of representatives from various factions, awaited him. The air in the grand hall of the council was tense, for alliances were often as fragile as ice on the seas that surrounded their lands.

Vidar Khan, clad in the regal attire of the Vidarian Khanate, stood before the assembly. With a commanding presence, he addressed the council, expressing his desire for unity against common threats. The White Raven faction, known for their wisdom and mystical knowledge, expressed particular interest in Vidar Khan's proposal.

After lengthy negotiations, a treaty was forged between the Vidarian Khanate and the White Raven faction. The pact promised mutual aid and cooperation, laying the foundation for a formidable alliance. Vidar Khan, a shrewd diplomat as much as a warrior, saw the value of such alliances in the tumultuous times that lay ahead.

However, the air of celebration was cut short by grim tidings. Whispers circulated among the council members, and it was revealed that a demon named Ferdinand had landed on the shores of Vidar Khan's homeland. The threat was dire, and the urgency in the council's deliberations escalated.

Vidar Khan, his gaze unwavering, listened as the council shared intelligence on Ferdinand – a demon of immense power, capable of unleashing chaos and destruction. The demon's arrival heralded a challenge that transcended borders and allegiances. The council of Osterra, despite its internal conflicts, recognized the need for a united front against this common foe.

With a heavy heart, Vidar Khan set sail once again, this time not as a conqueror but as a defender of his homeland. The alliance forged in the halls of Osterra would be tested by the flames of adversity. As the winter seas bore witness to the Khanate's departure, the fate of Vidarian warriors and the lands they sought to protect hung in the balance. The demon Ferdinand's presence cast a shadow over the horizon, and the saga of Vidar Khan entered a new chapter of peril and heroism.

The battle unfolded beneath the vast open sky, a landscape dominated by the sprawling Tian Shi Sea.

Mar - 2610 (bandits) Valon treaty, and pirate war

As spring blossomed, the Vidarian Khanate, under the leadership of Vidar Khan, embarked on a journey into the lush woods that surrounded the nomadic camp. Their destination was the town of Chugol, nestled amidst the verdant fae foliage. A location which would later cause some strife with the Elven council. Along the way, the nomads encountered the first challenge of the season – a pair of bandits who sought to exploit the peaceful transition from winter to spring. Vidar Khan, known for his swift and decisive actions, dispatched the bandits, ensuring the safety of the trade routes that connected their camp to the outside world.

On their return journey from Chugol, the Vidarian nomads encountered a contingent of Valon knights led by Sir Galfrid, the emissary to Aethelred, king of Valon. The knights, adorned in gleaming armor, were on a diplomatic mission, seeking allies against a common threat that loomed on the horizon. Recognizing the opportunity for a mutually beneficial alliance, Vidar Khan welcomed the Valon knights and invited them to share tales and provisions around their nomadic campfires.

United by a common cause, the knights of Valon and the nomads of Vidarian Khanate formed an unconventional caravan to transport essential supplies to a beleaguered town constantly besieged by pirates. The journey, however, was not without peril. The pirates, notorious for their ambush tactics, struck at a vulnerable point along the caravan route. The clash that ensued was fierce, echoing through the spring air as swords clashed and arrows whistled. Despite the surprise assault, the combined strength of the Valon knights and the nomadic warriors of Vidar Khan prevailed, driving the pirates back into the shadows and ensuring the safe delivery of supplies to the grateful town. In the wake of this victory, the bonds forged between the Vidarian Khanate and the Valon knights promised a springtime of cooperation and shared prosperity.

Minotaur:

In the vast expanse of the Vidarian Khanate, an ominous shadow fell upon the land when the malevolent necromancer Geth, driven by his dark ambitions, stumbled upon a lone cow. Drawing upon forbidden arcane arts, Geth twisted the innocent creature into a fearsome minotaur, a monstrous fusion of bovine strength and unholy necromantic energy. Delighting in his creation, Geth set the abomination loose upon the shores of the nomadic lands, sowing chaos and fear among the nomads.

News of this unnatural menace swiftly reached the ears of Vidar Khan, the respected leader of the nomadic tribes. Recognizing the threat posed by the dark sorcery of Geth, Vidar Khan rallied his trusted retinue of skilled hunters and warriors. United by a deep spiritual connection to the land and armed with traditional weaponry, they set out to track down and eliminate the malevolent minotaur that terrorized their homeland.

The pursuit was arduous, as the cursed creature proved to be a formidable adversary, guided by the sinister magic that animated it. Vidar Khan and his retinue, however, pressed on with determination, their every step guided by ancestral spirits and a profound sense of duty. With a final, resounding strike, the khan’s retinue brought an end to the abomination, using its horns as trophies.

Pirate cove:

In the whispers of the wind and the tales spun by the seafarers of the Vidarian Khanate, there arose a legend of a mysterious island shrouded in the mists off the coast of Ekh Oron. Known as the Pirates' Cove, this isle was said to harbor the hidden treasure of the notorious undead pirate captain Santiago. The allure of unimaginable wealth drew the attention of not only the nomadic Vidarians but also several other factions from the diverse council of Osterra, including the enigmatic White Ravens.

A fleet of ships, adorned with the banners of the Vidarian Khanate and their Osterran allies, set sail toward the fabled island. As they reached the uncharted waters surrounding Pirates' Cove, the air became thick with an eerie stillness. The party made landfall, greeted not by the warmth of a tropical paradise but by the haunting presence of skeletal sentinels. Undead skeletons, remnants of Santiago's cursed crew, rose from their eternal rest to defend the secrets of the island.

The factions, initially united by the promise of unimaginable riches, soon found themselves ensnared in the greed that often accompanies such coveted spoils. As the treasure chests were unearthed, alliances unraveled, and the once-cohesive party descended into chaos. In the midst of the tumult, the Vidarian Khanate bore the brunt of the conflict, suffering heavy casualties in the treacherous struggle for the coveted gems concealed within the chests. Despite the losses, the nomadic warriors emerged triumphant, clutching a single chest filled with glittering gems—a testament to their resilience and determination in the face of greed and betrayal.

Tribal warriors:

The Sasagaan Mountains, with their craggy peaks and hidden valleys, became an inhospitable refuge for the Ezenids. Seeking solace in the rugged terrain, they nursed their grievances and plotted their revenge against Vidar Khan. The winds, impartial witnesses to the unfolding saga, carried the echoes of a tale that would resonate through the nomadic corridors of time.

As the winds howled through the mountain passes, tales of ambushes and raids by the Ezenids spread. Merchants traveling through the treacherous routes found themselves at the mercy of these mountain-dwelling renegades. The once-safe paths were now fraught with danger, and the prosperity of the Vidarian Khanate faced a mounting threat.

Faced with this challenge to the stability of his realm, Vidar Khan, with a stern countenance and a heart resolute, assembled a small but seasoned warband. Their mission: to venture into the heart of the Sasagaan Mountains and put an end to the Ezenid threat.

Guided by scouts who knew the twists and turns of the mountain trails, Vidar Khan's war party penetrated the labyrinthine passes of the Sasagaan. The air was thin, and the silence of the peaks held an ominous tension.

Yet, the Ezenids were not to be underestimated. With an intimate knowledge of the terrain, they lay in wait, their ambush cunningly executed. As Vidar Khan's war party navigated the rocky pathways, the mountains echoed with the clash of steel.

The battle that ensued was fierce, with warriors from both sides displaying valor and determination. The narrow ravines and steep cliffs became the stage for a struggle that would decide the fate of the Sasagaan Mountains. Vidar Khan, leading from the front, clashed with Ezenid champions, each blow resonating with the weight of vengeance and retribution.

Fueled by the thirst for revenge, Vidar Khan dispatched another war party into the treacherous terrain, determined to eradicate the lingering threat of the renegade followers. This time, the Vidarian warriors moved with a tempered resolve, knowing the challenges that awaited them amidst the craggy peaks.

The Ezenids, now entrenched and emboldened, awaited the approaching Khanate forces. As Vidar Khan's war party ascended the winding paths, a sudden onslaught erupted from above. Ezenids, perched like vultures on the precipices, unleashed a barrage of arrows and stones upon the Vidarian warriors. Caught in a deadly crossfire, the Khanate war party found themselves ambushed in the most perilous stretches of the mountains.

The narrow passes, once again, became both a fortress and a trap. Vidar Khan, recognizing the strategic disadvantage, made the difficult decision to order a retreat. The Ezenids, having secured the high ground, pressed their advantage. The mountainous terrain favored their hit-and-run tactics, and the echoes of skirmishes resonated through the Sasagaan as the Vidarian war party fought a desperate rearguard action.

Oct - none (fall of Ferdinand)

Although the Vidarians were not present at the fall of the great demon Ferdinand. Krugr van Drachenstein of the Vidarian Khanate, was then serving the Nova Regnus faction Cedar Hill. In his report to the Khan, Drachenstein stated,

“Our suspicions about Sir Tanos's sword has been proven correct. He immediately started using it against things other than demons and when we were about to launch an attack on the demon strong hold, he was among the first corrupted by the spells of the demons. The Osterrans, after a bloody battle, returned Sir Tanos to his senses through the use of a mind shield potion, in which we were able to launch full invasion against the demons. Sir Tanos ended up slaying the Demon General Ferdinand in combat, only to reveal that the armor was empty, the demon's soul no longer inhabiting it. After this, the Council of Osterra met, in which it was decided that the elite magic users known as the Sentinels try to destroy the armor. Should that not work, there has been talking of melting the armor down into a single ingot, but there is worry that it may corrupt the land it is hidden in. In addition, the keys to control the portals have been discovered. Sir Tanos immediately called for them to be safeguarded in The Cast's fortified obelisk to be studied by the Sentinels. He claims that other factions will have free access to the portals through there, but only after the other factions started to confront him. While it was agreed upon by the end, it might still be wise to be cautious about the way he agreed. An amulet was also discovered that may have caused madness in one of the casters. It was decided that a coalition of casters outside the Sentinels made up of the different factions. Finally, there was a movement by the Tharrosians to put a regent in charge of the Osterran Council for the factions of Novu Regnus and there were questions on how it would affect those native to Vetus Mundi. Many do not wish this centralized power but have pushed the decision to the Winter Council after a clear outline of the potential regent(a woman not apart of any faction) would be created."

Nov - 2010 (1 Giant & skeletons)

Westward encounter:

The windswept plains of Ekh Oron stretched endlessly before the Vidarian Khanate as they embarked on their expedition to the west to meet with the main Nova Regnus party. Led by Vidar Khan himself, the riders moved with a purpose, their banners fluttering in the gusts that swept across the vast landscape. Unbeknownst to them, an ancient evil lurked in the desolation they sought to traverse. As they ventured further, the terrain became increasingly ominous, and the air bore a chilling stillness that belied an unnatural presence.

It was on the fringes of Ekh Oron that the Khanate encountered the harbingers of doom. A colossal giant, animated by dark forces, lumbered forth with malevolent intent. Beside it, a legion of undead soldiers, their vacant eyes glowing with an unholy light, formed a grim assembly. The clash between the living and the undead echoed across the desolate plains, the Khanate warriors displaying unparalleled skill and unity as they faced the abominable foes. Vidar Khan's leadership proved pivotal as he spurred his warriors to exploit the weaknesses of the giant and strategize against the relentless advance of the undead. In a fierce battle that tested the mettle of the Khanate, they emerged victorious, driving back the shadows that had threatened to engulf the western reaches of Ekh Oron. The expedition, now marked by both glory and the ominous specter of the undead, pressed on, guided by the unfaltering determination of Vidar Khan and the indomitable spirit of the Vidarian warriors.

Bone Naga:

The Vidarian Khanate, seeking new realms to conquer, unexpectedly found themselves traversing a mysterious portal that transported them to an apocalyptic winter realm, a frozen wasteland shrouded in eternal ice and snow. The landscape, unforgiving and desolate, posed a stark contrast to the arid expanses they were accustomed to. Undeterred by the bone-chilling cold, Vidar Khan and his warriors pressed forward, determined to unravel the mysteries of this inhospitable realm.

As they delved deeper into the icy expanse, the Khanate encountered formidable adversaries: bone nagas and amorphous blobs that seemed to thrive in the frigid environment. The bone nagas, serpentine creatures with skeletal bodies, proved to be formidable foes, their icy breath capable of freezing even the hardiest warriors. The blobs, amorphous and unpredictable, presented a different kind of challenge, their gelatinous forms absorbing and reflecting magical attacks. The Khanate's encounters with these creatures were marked by strategic prowess and collaboration, as the mages within their ranks devised spells to counter the bone nagas' frosty assaults and the blobs' unpredictable movements.

Amidst this frozen hellhole, the Vidarian Khanate discovered they were not alone in their quest. The Arataan Anchin, a nomadic warrior tribe known for their skill in hunting and survival, were also present. Recognizing a common enemy in the bone nagas, the two factions formed an uneasy alliance. Mages from both sides collaborated to weaken and counter the bone nagas' abilities, while the warriors engaged in a coordinated assault. The frozen wasteland echoed with the clash of steel, the crackling of magical incantations, and the determined roars of warriors united against a common, otherworldly threat.

Oct - - 2913, 2912, 2914 Khanate established (1 tribesmen)

In the vast, rolling steppes of the Vidarian Khanate, where the winds carried whispers of destiny, a tale unfolded – a tale of ambition, rivalry, and a capital claimed through the dance of blades.

Vidar Khan sought unity among the nomadic tribes scattered across the steppes of Ekh Oron. The Ariankai, led by their chieftain, held a key to this dream. With a glint of silver exchanged beneath the boundless sky, an accord was reached between Khan Vidar and the Ariankai leader. Kharaat, a city of riches, was offered in recognition of the alliance.

Yet, shadows clung to the periphery of this newfound harmony. Ezen, son of the Ariankai chieftain, nursed a seed of discontent. In the silence of yurts and the rustle of the steppe grass, he plotted against Vidar Khan, his vision clouded by the mirage of power.

Whispers reached Vidar Khan's ears, carried by the same winds that once spoke of destiny. He sensed betrayal in the air, a treacherous breeze that threatened to disturb the harmony he sought. Vidar, ever vigilant, reached out to the Ariankai chieftain, warning of the dangerous currents swirling around them.

Yet, destiny's path is often forged in unexpected ways. Ezen, the ambitious scion, met a mysterious end. Some whispered that outlanders were his undoing, while others spoke that his noyan Ulfrik Bey ended him. Regardless, Ezen fell, and chaos erupted among the Ariankai.

The followers of Ezen, now known as the Ezenids, fled into the open steppe. Vidar Khan, with a sense of regret for the discord that had unfolded, claimed Kharaat as his own. The city, once offered in friendship, now stood as the symbol of Vidar Khan's might and the unity he envisioned.

Nomads:

Vidar Khan, the formidable leader of the Vidarian Khanate, stood at the forefront of his mounted warriors as they galloped across the expansive open steppe. Intelligence had revealed the presence of the Ezenids, followers of the rival chieftain Ezen, gathering forces to fight the young Khan. The steppe, usually a vast and serene landscape, now crackled with the anticipation of conflict.

As the Vidarian forces closed in on the Ezenid encampment, the nomadic warriors emerged from their tents, their eyes reflecting both defiance and a thirst for retribution. The clash between the two nomadic powers was imminent, and the steppe bore witness to a showdown that echoed with the ancestral struggles of the open plains.

The battle erupted with a fury as swords clashed and arrows streaked through the air. Vidar Khan, a masterful tactician, tried to outmaneuver the Ezenids, but the nomadic warriors proved to be formidable adversaries. The open steppe became a chaotic arena, with dust rising like a shroud as the conflict intensified.

Despite Vidar Khan's strategic acumen, the Ezenids, driven by a potent mix of desperation and determination, managed to exploit a vulnerability in the Vidarian formation. Outflanked and outnumbered, the Vidarian forces found themselves compelled into a tactical retreat. The open steppe, witness to countless battles, now cradled the echoes of clashing blades and the resolute hooves of the Vidarian retreat. As they regrouped in the distance, Vidar Khan's gaze remained fixed on the open steppe, a vast and untamed expanse that held both the promise of conquest and the scars of a hard-fought struggle. The rivalry between Vidar Khan and the Ezenids continued, leaving the open steppe to silently tell the tale of a nomadic conflict that echoed across its windswept plains.

Against the backdrop of the frozen, windswept winter steppe, Vidar Khan and his warriors braced themselves for a second confrontation with the relentless Ezenids. The biting cold mirrored the tension that hung in the air as both nomadic forces prepared for battle. Vidar Khan, having learned from past encounters, devised a strategic plan that would capitalize on the challenges posed by the unforgiving winter terrain.

As the first clash erupted, the Vidarian cavalry, accustomed to the harsh conditions of the steppe, skillfully navigated the icy expanses. Swift and coordinated movements allowed them to encircle the Ezenids, disrupting their formations and confounding their attempts at retaliation. Vidar Khan, clad in furs and leading from the front, wielded his blade with the precision of a seasoned warrior.
