The City of Confluence

Confluence

Confluence started out as a small settlement, chosen to be the Capital of the Guild of the Black Sky due to its central location in Nova Regnus

Settled inside the base of the World’s Spine Mountains, the location housed many options for the movement of resources. Its location, coupled with the Confluence Market (one of the oldest faction run markets in Osterra, existing since the very beginning of the Faction Territories) saw the settlement quickly grow into a bustling trade town.

Unfortunately the growth of Confluence was slowed by wars, as resources were redirected from the Capital to help refugees and factions in need. Once the threat of the Daemon forces was reduced to the point that there was no imminent danger, Confluence was able to devote itself once more to developing as a trade capital. Roads stretch out from the City of Confluence in every direction to facilitate the movement of trade, with Black Sky patrols protecting, maintaining, and expanding the routes. Noticeably, the roads reach trade ports to the East and the West continuing to drive the trade economy of Confluence. As a result, the settlement immediately expanded into a full-fledged city even while contributing massive funds to the construction of Haven to the South.

The City of Confluence is now a beacon of trade and prosperity, and has expanded around the base and up the sides of the southern-most peak of the World’s Spire Mountains. The upper areas of the cityscape consist of long, flowing terraces carved into the mountainside as the city slowly grows to cover the mountain. Many streets are paved with the local export Glowstone that Sir Garon discovered himself, and the Skyport is in construction for his research into floating ships.

The Church of Pecune also has its Osterran branch located in Confluence, overseen by High Venture Brennen. Thanks to the influence of the church, economic growth in the city continues steadily even as space grows short. Luckily, a considerable portion of the city is devoted to inns and markets for the constant stream of vendors coming to sell their goods in the city before leaving to restock their wares.
