Maple

Biography

before you stands what appears to be a small tree with humanoid features hidden beneath it’s bark and autumnal colored leaf exterior

Don’t be alarmed by appearance. Perhaps you have not met a living tree before and had one speak to you. This form is known as a Drus and serves the Autumn court. You may call me Maple!

Age: 7 rings (fae realm)

Race: Drus

Faction: Mellondor

Path: Wizard/Warrior

Homeworld: Osterra, The Autumn Court

Maple has studied a lot about mortals. They know something about the rituals of economy and do very much enjoy reading your text (although it feels some what disquieting that your script is written on tree skin) Maple can appreciate that you have in a way honored the fallen tree by making it a keeper of your most sacred knowledge. Likewise, the custom of cremating the fallen trees of your land brings honor to them in death- for they become part of the great cycle. To this note Maple must share that I do have a love hate relationship with fire. On one hand it brings ruin and on the other it brings comfort. In the court of Autumn it can leave behind devastation, but also promotes the growth of new trees.

Maple came to Osterra at the request of the Autumn court to offer aid and serve as an ambassador of their court. Maple enjoys learning and one day seeks to learn magics that protect from fire. Other things that make Maple uneasy are axes and those most fowl creatures called termites.

Although Maple is from a Fae court you need not be alarmed! The Autumn court believes in showing your true colors at all times when we are guest in other realms- in our home realm of the Autumn court we (mostly) will never try to use word tricks and take care to make sure the meaning of words in what we share and receive is understood. Still though, the Autumn court is home to many dangerous beings. The ruler of the Autumn Court, the Pumpkin King, is powerful and a little scary.

Some fun things about Maple. As a Drus Maple is something of an offshoot of Dryad kind and a much smaller form of a living treefolk. Maple smaller size gives me some advantages. In the thick fae wild of the Autumn court it helped me to spot fires and navigate towards them. In Autumn the lands are always dry so fire is a constant danger- so being a fire watcher is an important job!

Maple also has a squirrel that live in the hollow of Maple’s chest. BT the squirrel helps give Maple wise council, for they know many secrets.

So who is Maple? Just Maple. A fledging student of the blade and arcane. Maple still learning much about the world and Maple. Maple have not earned a last name yet, and Maple seek to earn it by growing to find out who Maple meant to be.

Maple is at the service of the realm so if you ever need anything leaf it to Maple!
