Be it known:
The Knights of Valon have held a council with the brave and honorable Khan of the Vidarian Khanate. We understand that the Vidarians seek to embark upon a crusade against the Elves of the Misriki. We do not wish the Vidarians or Elves of Misriki ill in this endeavor that occurs so close to our borders.
However, the knights of Valon, under orders of our king Aethelred son of Aethelstead, wish to make it known that we shall render no aid to the Vidarians in this conquest. At the same time we shall also raise no arms against them. Be it known that a non-aggression pact already exists between the Elves of Misriki and the Knights of Valon, and as we are sure the honorable Khan understands, it is the duty of the strong to ensure their promises be the strongest of all.
We have made the following requests of the Vidarians as they seek to engage in their actions, and we are certain the honorable Khan will remain true to their promises.
The foremost being that for matters concerning the nearby principality of Nuln, that if the King’s brother Rorik (also known as Rory) be found on the field of battle that they be captured and kept alive and returned to Valon to await the judgement of the Valonian Crown.
Secondly, the elves of Misriki have possession of a great library that they have allowed the Knights of Valon access to under an agreement of information and cultural exchange. It is the duty of all people to ensure that the gift of knowledge of all peoples be preserved. We have the assurance of the honorable Khan this library will not be burned, and further that if the Khan is successful in their endeavors that they will work with us to continue this existing cultural and information access between the library and the Knights of Valon.
We thank the honorable Khan for their invitation to hold council with us, and for their great hospitality, and invite them to visit Valon in the future for a day of feasting as you share tales with us of your recent exploits on the field of battle.
So spoken in the name of Valon,
Sir Godric Greywin
Knight of Valon
