Kython summons his flock of mandarin ducks. He attaches a scroll to each of them, sending one to the Vidarian Khanate, and then copies to the rest of the factions and Haven.
The scroll reads:
"The Prismatic Troupe exists for the sake of spreading joy through Osterra. We pursue chaos for the sake of laughter bubbling onto faces from mischievous antics, eyes lighting up as magic sparkles through the air, groans becoming grins becoming giggles. We are seekers of jubilant fun, of delight at the unexpected, of exhilaration at the marvels of this world, and we are foremost creators of peace and sanctuary. We create a sanctuary to leave behind the troubles of the outside world and lose oneself in childlike exuberance, no matter the age. We seek to foster a place of bliss and comfort, and foremost of all, peace.
The Prismatic Troupe exists as a band of fae ousted from their homeland by war. We have already once borne witness to the destruction and ruin that blooms from the hands of a creature lacking in empathy and caring only for his own power. We are refugees who want nothing more than the safety and protection of a home, be it ours of the past or the present. We are fae, far older than you can comprehend, Khan, and we know what such ruthless desire creates. We have witnessed it, and we refuse to do so again.
The Prismatic Troupe sees you, Vidar. We see your greed for the resources that the Great Forest provides and your hunger for what it could give you. We see your brazen pride in your people and culture, blinding you to all but the glory of war and conquest rather than the devastation it brings all around it. We see your lust for power over others, whether it be subjugating them to your will in demands of tribute or destroying an ancient culture for fabricated slights. We see you, and you have drawn our ire. You intend to take our homeland and strip it of its resources despite the destruction you have caused while claiming to be of the land and speaking for it. You have made aggressive demands of our allies and friends who have brought peace and protection to this land and its residents while claiming it was on our behalf. Your hypocrisy sours your claims of honor as you both asserted your authority as the voice of all natives of our continent and declared war upon those whom you claim to speak for. You speak with the brashness of a man who asserts all words that leave his mouth are truth, but you claim respect when you hold none for others. You claim to care for your people while subjecting them to the horrors of war, and claim certainty that the elves have taken your men when there is no proof but the depths of a dangerous forest those you sent could not fathom to comprehend.
The Prismatic Troupe sees nothing but a contemptuous man lusting for power, desperate to back his unbridled tongue.
Our forces and focus will henceforth be set in defense of the Fae Forest of Misriki, our homeland and in defense of the elves who similarly call it home. As a result, we will not be aiding either side in the battle between the forces of Nuln and the alliance of Osterran factions. We have our own war to fight and our people to protect.
War is but another stage, and we have been performers longer than you've drawn breath.
Your curtain is calling, Vidar. Listen, lest it be stained with Vidarian blood."
