Sunbringer
Sunbringer is a holy greatsword forged from remnant shards of The Armor of Ferdinand. It was commissioned at great cost to pierce the impervious protection of the Demon General’s armor.

Backstory
Sunbringer is an artifact built by the dwarven Master Blacksmith Jorin Copperbeard in Vetus Mundi. The blade was commissioned by Sir Tanos Hrafnar from a piece of the demon general Ferdinand’s armor that was being studied by The Sentinels. Lady Laya, the leader of the Sentinels, agreed with the construction of the blade and the piece of armor was released to Master Copperbeard.
The reason for the construction of Sunbringer was that General Ferdinand’s armor had proven impervious to all weapons of Osterra, mundane, magical, and holy. It was believed that a weapon made from his armor was the only way to penetrate his defenses. In order to safeguard the user of the weapon from the inherent curse in Ferdinand’s armor, Master Copperbeard devised a means to contain the corruption. The dwarven blacksmith utilized magical gems that used the power of the Ley Lines to contain the corruption. In order for the gems to be effective at containing the corruption, they had to be tuned and synched to the life force of the user. Given the most recent failure of Master Copperbeard’s automaton, The Destroyer, Sir Tanos felt that he could not allow anyone else to take this risk; the gems were attuned to his life force. This resulted in Sir Tanos the only person to wield Sunbringer safely without fear of the corruption. However, Master Copperbeard had to completely revamp his entire forge and construct new tools in order to safely fabricate the blade.
The final cost to construct the weapon grew to an overwhelming cost of 1000 gold and 500 gems. This was more than what the members of The Cast had with them in Vetus Mundi, and it was believed that a contingent could not return to The Cast’s coffers and return before the Osterran forces would find Demon General Ferdinand.
As much as it pained Sir Tanos to ask, he felt compelled to ask the other Osterran faction leaders to donate what they could to pay Master Copperbeard for his services. The weapon was delivered just in time for Sir Tanos to victoriously wield against the demon general at the Battle of Ferdinand’s Last Stand. After the battle, Sir Tanos delivered Sunbringer to The Sentinels for further study and safekeeping.

Sunbringer has a gold upswept hilt, a silver blade, and glowing jewels along the fuller of the blade.
