Application for Entry into the Merchant’s Guild
Want to become a Merchant? First, check out the The Merchant's Guild rules.
After you've done that: the following form must be submitted to the Guildmaster of the Merchant's Guild for consideration.
Don't worry: this is a means to focus your mercantile journey and a check to see if you understand the rules. The barrier to entry is fairly low-- but the form starts the conversation so that, through guidance, we can get you where you want to be.
Remember, "Merchant" is a catch-all term here and meant to encompass everyone from Actors of Service to Ruthless Cutthroats. You could be after illicit coin or trying to run a charity coinless-- and we have examples of that today and all manner in-between. But like all those who take Professions at LARP, it may take some time to get there.
Feel free to print out this form or another with the same content. Bonus points if you make it fun or expand on it, but it must have at least these questions answered.

To be a card-carrying Merchant’s Guild member, called an Owner, an initial one-time investment of 15 gold pieces is required. This represents the costs of founding, whether that’s sourcing and supplying, navigating the legal system of the country, or even greasing the right palms, depending on your shop’s backstory. You can pay up front OR take as long as you’d like to pay off that 15 gold, but Merchant’s Guild reputation, perks, and benefits cannot be accrued until that is paid in full. Think of it as a trial period! Initially, only one Owner can claim Merchant’s Guild benefits. For a fee, you can also add additional co-Owners (+15 gold pieces) or Apprentices (+3 gold pieces) at any time. Only three people maximum may be associated with the business, but as apprentices leave, these slots become vacant. Decision-making is settled at the Owner level, with co-Owners voting on decisions.
How many co-Owners / Apprentices will you have? Who are they?

What services are you offering? Attach character sheets for each Owner, co-Owner, and Apprentice.
