Varga

Varga is a crow transformed into a crow harpy during her Portal transport into Osterra. Although she is getting used to her larger, more human body, she does long for a way to return to her original form at will, so that she may soar through the skies once again.
Biography
When the blight known as Malice infected her homeworld, a nameless mountain crow abandoned her nest-- and all her beautiful, shiny possessions-- to avoid being consumed. Finding a new space in the mountains to rebuild a nest, she searched for more treasures to fill it with. But just as she did so, a Portal crackled open and swallowed her whole. As she fell impossibly far into inky darkness, the crow witnessed visions of a beautiful new land-- Osterra-- before she fell unconscious.
When she awoke, the crow was different. Passing through the Portal’s arcane energies left her forever changed. Although she had retained her wings and other feathered aspects, she had meaty legs and arms with hands. The crow had become a crow harpy-- Varga.

Varga hoped this would be a new, beautiful place, safe from the evils of Malice, but she was disappointed to find a world similar-- almost worse-- than where she came from. Demons running rampant, nature being destroyed, and fellow birds losing their homes due to the natural worlds not being respected.
Taking her first earthbound strides, Varga became determined to help heal this land and began studying healing. She has vowed to see her vision of a beautiful Osterra come to fruition. Joining with the Grove, her primary focus is to protect the nature of Osterra, so that the avian population may thrive.
Personality
Although Varga's form may now be closer to human, she still retains her birdlike characteristics. She still has a strong desire to collect shiny objects, money, and people, to store in her "nest", a treehouse in Lapis Lagoon. Although Varga is fiercely loyal to her friends and allies, she is also extremely naĂŻve and may be tricked or distracted easily with most kinds of shiny objects. She is kind to those around her and always wants to help, a small part of her but secretly enjoys the chaos that often occurs.
Appearance
Varga is a woman of average height with dark hair that is often decorated with additional colors such as purples or blues. She adorns herself with feathers, jewels, and makeups that she has collected during her travels, as that is the only way she knows how to preen herself anymore. She frequently wears blacks with green embroidery to honor her crow heritage as well as show her allegiance to the Grove.
