Fëawen the Green
"Knowledge can be dangerous, whether wielded by the simple or the wise."
Fëawen is an Elf of Silvan descent, born during a time known as the "Second Age" in her land. Equal parts arcanist and skilled archer, she is both graceful and exacting in her interactions and combat alike.
Biography
Undertaking a Great Journey, many of Fëawen's people had traveled east, across a mountain range. But some, like her family, abandoned their journey short of the mountain and settled in a great forest. Growing up, she was taught about the land, and how her people sought a balance with nature and the responsibility to protect it.
As she aged, Fëawen found that she began to exhibit strange, magic powers. Her brethren had only been able to work magic into objects, but this was something different entirely. Fëawen traveled with her father to see a wise elven woman who know of such rare occurrences.
Pronunciation: Fay'-a-wen
Race: Silvan Elf
Faction: The Grove
Homeworld: Middle Earth
Residence: Cascadia, Nova Regnus
Fëawen learned a bit more of her past, and who she was. Unfortunately, before she could ask any more questions, she was transported to Osterra, with no memory of who she was before. As she looked down at her clothes, she noticed a book secured to her belt. Upon opening the book, it had a name - "Fëawen"
Shortly after arriving, she started to hear music echoing through the woods. Upon emerging from the forest, she was greeted by a human with a black and grey beard, adorned in red robes. "Welcome traveler, to Oakenshield!" he smiled. She looked around rather confusedly before he spoke again. "Ah, I see. you must be new...and have forgotten your past, am I right?" She nodded sadly.
"Don't worry! It happens to many who are transported to Osterra. That's the name of this world." The man swept an arm towards the small merchant tents and various races of people wandering around. "You may be here for some time, it may be best for you to learn the lay of the land, as it were."
"Thank you, kind sir," Fëawen responded and timidly approached the crowd to learn more about this new world.
Character Development
Arrival
When Fëawen arrived in Osterra, she had only the clothes on her back and journal at her side. She met many people, and interacted with many factions, but she felt most closely aligned with the values and people of the Grove after spending many hours with Sir Trez Arrigo and Oonagh Cardot, who were both very welcoming and patient with her as she asked many questions about Osterra and the Grove. She made her decision fairly quickly and requested to become a sapling… and thus began her path towards becoming an initiated member of the Grove.
Fëawen was intrigued by all the various peoples that she came across in Osterra, most of whom had arrived via a portal from another place. One day, she had taken a hand cart to gather some wood for the Grove when she heard the telltale sound of a portal and saw a flash of light nearby. She went over to investigate and found a badly injured human, lying on the ground. She immediately upended the cart, dumping all the wood out of it so she could pull the man into it and bring him back to camp. He opened his eyes as she worked mightily to pull him up into the cart. He was weak, and did not speak, but his eyes thanked her. She brought him back to the Grove where his wounds were tended, and she discovered his name was Brin. They became fast friends, and fellow seedlings as he decided to request to become part of the Grove as well.
Sapling Era
While still only a Sapling, Fëawen decided to rely on her craftsman skills to make a few things that would serve her in the coming months. While magic worked differently here, and she needed to relearn how to use magic, she found that her skill with a bow had not diminished. She was able to earn some gold and purchase a bow, some arrows, and leather. She leaned on some of her leatherworking skills that she had not used for many years and made herself a beautiful elven quiver. She stripped the bow and decorated it similarly to a one she had many, many years ago.
One of the happiest days Fëawen encountered since arriving in Osterra was the day she became a fully recognized member of the Grove. As a bonus, her best friend Brin was also inducted into the Grove. She had come to recognize the Grove as more than a faction, but her family and loved everyone that was in it.
The Green Goddess Emporium
In Spring 2024, Fëawen, along with her friend Brin Shadowstep, established the Geen Goddess Emporium in order to help feed the hungry, hydrate the thirsty, and offer various services such as potions, scrolls, and other various offerings.
The Goddess' Call
In Fall 2024, after a long night of study, Fëawen returned to her quarters in Cascadia, feeling the weight of both fatigue and inspiration from hours spent poring over ancient texts. She had been delving into the intricate mysteries surrounding magic and the Green Goddess, piecing together fragments of lore whispered through the ages. Just as she settled by her window to let her mind rest, a sudden and inexplicable call stirred within her, like a soft breeze carrying an urgent message only she could hear. Drawn from her weariness, she felt compelled to leave the comforts of her room and step into the night.
Guided by this unseen force, Fëawen made her way into the heart of the ancient forest, where shadows and moonlight wove a sacred veil over the land. In a secluded glade bathed in silver light, she knelt in meditation, her spirit reaching out, seeking the presence of the Green Goddess. As dawn’s first light began to filter through the trees, Fëawen felt a deep and undeniable shift within herself, as if the very essence of the forest had entwined with her soul. In that sacred communion, the Green Goddess granted her the gift of healing, blending her arcane power with the life-giving magic of nature.
The Blessings of Water
Fëawen and Brin donated gold from the Green Goddess Emporium to the leadership of the Grove to rebuild a small fishing village that they had recently liberated from a sea monster. Brin devoted his funds towards the village itself, now called Rainbow’s End. While Fëawen dedicated her funds to an elven-style fishing fleet known as “Elaedh i Aelin“ or in the common tongue, “The Blessings of Water”
In March of 2024, Fëawen formally requested to become an apprentice to High Priestess Oona and follow the path of the Green Goddess.
During Trollmas of 2024, Fëawen performed a “Seasonal Thankfulness Ritual” and was elevated to the next level in her path to enlightenment, “Novice of the Green Goddess”
As of Winter Council, 2025, Fëawen was announced to the Realm, honored by her Faction
A Paladin Lost, New Magics learned
During the return journey from the floating city—a place many kindred had traveled to during the Rites of Spring—Fëawen joined her companions aboard the vessel heading back to the mainland. But a sudden storm swept them from the waves and deposited them into an infernal prison where Orzalon held dominion. There, Fëawen witnessed the Forgefather kneel before Orzalon, a sight that seared itself into her memory and left her uneasy about his intentions.
In the chaos that followed, Sir Tanos sought her out and entrusted her with command of the archers in the battle against a greater demon. Fëawen marshaled the archers with precision, holding the demon horde at bay while Oona and the other magic users opened a portal for their escape. Though Fëawen fell in battle, she was saved at the last moment by Rhiannon, a debt she carries and hopes to repay in full. Sir Tanos also fell in battle, but was unable to be retrieved before the portal was sealed. His fate is yet to be determined.
After the battle, Fëawen wandered into the forest, seeking clarity. Time and again, her archery had served her well, but she had always struggled when foes came too close, leaving her vulnerable. She had long embraced a supportive, often healing role rather than one of magical offense. Yet in communion with the Green Goddess, Fëawen gained new understanding—of the cycles of nature, of balance, and of the necessary interplay between defense and offense. She realized that fire, a force of destruction yet also of renewal, could serve as both protector and purifier. From that moment, she embraced her newfound power, learning to wield fire to safeguard herself and her kindred.
Not long after, Fëawen had her first opportunity to put this knowledge to use. During a rain-swept outing, the Grove faced an enemy attempting to employ a catapult against their ranks. Fëawen turned to her companions. “Cover me,” she said, her voice steady. With the enemy poised to launch their first volley, she spoke the incantation and unleashed a fireball, striking the catapult dead-on and destroying it before it could fire—a perfect demonstration of her newly honed offensive skill.
