As more and more monster's and beasts enter the portals into Osterra, so too grow the need for beast hunters. Almost every nomad on Ekh Oron, Arghan or Merghit, are hunters. Trained from a young age every nomad knows how to use bow and arrow on a horse. However, some monsters have begun to be too much for mere tribal herders. Thus the great Khan Vidar employed the Arataan Anchin, meaning Beast hunters in the nomad tongue, to combat the increased threats of wild or rogue creatures.

Backstory:
The Araatan Anchin are a tribe of nomadic warriors who have spent much of their existence honing the craft of monster hunting. It is a skill they must learn, from a early age in order to survive the harsh mountains from which they hail from. Located at the base of the Avarga Khuruu or Giants Finger, is where the Araatan call home. By using the mountainous terrain, the Araatan Anchin have honed they skill with deadly precision and it is said they can match the ferocity of the beasts and creatures they face.
They Araatan believe the mountain is a sacred site. According to legend, the great Temu, in the form of a dragon, fought and slew a mighty giant. In the aftermath the giant’s hand would fall to the earth and would later form the very mountain itself. It is also where the Araatan conduct their ritual of induction, the Trial of The Mountain. A young initiate sets out on a week long journey either alone or with a party of no more than three, and must return with a slain quarry or become prey themselves.
