Racial diversity in Mosa-Zlathi
The Halflings demographically reign supreme over all other races in Mosa-Zlathi, making up 66% of all peoples. Stouts tend to live near the mountainous region of Wellspring, close to their Dwarven neighbours, while Lightfoots often live in busy towns across the estuaries. Ghostwise Halflings are rarely seen outside of Lummelhill, where they take up 50% of the local population, but it does happen.
Over time the fertile lands have attracted lesser dragonkind (Dragonborn and few Kobolds) as well as nomads from Avanar, while the The Orgûllian Kingdom have set up a number of urbanized trading outposts along the Skybreakers.
As Mosa-Zlathi has ruled its borders to be standard open in times of peace, anyone however is free to immigrate to it, allowing roughly 20% of the population to be as diverse in demographics and species as are the hoards of the Avanarii Dragons.
A culture of workaholics.
The first Halflings that settled in the fields of Mosa-Zlathi were quick to pick up the hardworking behavior of their precise would-become land gods/rulers. Over the generations the relaxed feasting folk became a community of almost perfectionist workaholics who swapped out their many extensive mealtimes for curt and immediate luncheons. Lazing off is frowned upon, and cutting corners almost a taboo. With hard labor and farming -wildly encouraged by both the ‘church’ and the ‘government’- Zlathins will rather spend their ‘downtime-activities’ sweating over a side-project rather than slough down under a parasol.
A cuisine most curt
With little time between work-shifts, most types of meals take too long to prepare, causing the classic Halflings feasts to slowly disappear out of Zlathin culture and be replaced by something that can be prepared fast and eaten fast; sandwiches, noodles and smoothies have conquered the cuisine. With plenty access to clean water from the estuaries, a wide variety of grains and rice to choose from, and a large number of cow herds to milk from, the Zlathins have elevated the art of sandwich-, noodle- and smoothie crafting to ascended heights. Optionally, Lummelhill region-inhabitants may swap out smoothies for the slightly psychedelic cactus juice grown near the borders of Avanar.
Luxuries from Mosa-Zlathi; Alcohol and psychedelics.
Even by exporting a major swat of their harvests to other lands, and consuming what they need for themselves, the Zlathins are still left with enough produce to set up a thriving distillery industry, and reserve a portion of land for the cultivation of psychedelics both in types of fungi and shrubbery. While the Zlathins themselves are too busy to take part in lengthy recreational activities the rest of the world is not, making both the psychedelics and alcoholics the second most successful export product.
Faith
Zlathins often –not always- follow the ‘Twin-Faith of Day and Night’ with the Sovereigns as its twin-deities, or colloquially called ‘the land gods’. Prayers take place during dawn, noon, dusk, and midnight, though most Zlathins don’t find the time to commit to all four prayers, and stick with dawn and dusk. Zealous followers may sometimes maintain an odd sleeping rhythm where they sleep four hours during the day-hours, and four hours during the night, to successfully partake in each of the prayers. Prayers themselves consist of burying small food offerings, and elaborate sun- and rain dances.
The Sovereigns as Lesser Celestials.
Living for millennia, the Sovereigns have attained a point of lesser Celestial nature, making them something akin to godly creatures, but not entirely. One with the land, the Elder Elementals embody balance, relentless focus, and renewal from death. The playful Rehamon furthermore has a heightened interest in Nature and Trickery, while the orderly Kematuk pursues Order and the control Tempestuous weather.
While all Clergy domains are available under guidance of the Sovereigns, the Clergy of War holds a special position, as the Sovereigns abhor violence. Thus War Clerics from Mosa-Zlathi are better known as ‘Peacemakers’, occupied with ending wars and skirmishes, rather than starting them.
