Grunark Dandebeard of the Opalgranite Clan was as gentle a soul as he was fierce a warrior. Happy to welcome and shelter all, he was deemed the inspiration for the village.

The Statue
By a simple pond just outside of the Tower Gardens, stands a stone statue of the stoic founding father of Flower Rock, affectionately known as Grandpa Dandebeard.
Reluctant to take on any title other that everyone's Grandpa, Grunark thought that insisting his honorary statue to feature him in his favored sleeping pants, stockings, and slippers would dissuade the crowds. They loved him more for it.
In years since, his Dwarven greataxe was removed for public safety reasons, but children still enjoy add in bouquets of flowers into his right hand.
Every evening, the lone Ludos Rockflower braided into his majestic beard softly glows, reminding all of his gentle presence.
