Aether Magic, also known as “The Weave” or “True Magic” is the purest form of mystic art, beaten out only by forms of pure Divine Magic from gods themselves, or by the manipulation of reality itself through the usage of True Names. It is a rare form of magic that generally only the powerful Fae or Deva are capable of accessing or their unique descendants. This is due to their innate connection to life around them, and sensitivity to it.

While Natural Magic pulls aura from the body, and ejects it into the material plane, or Primordial Magic draws on an archaic and flawed mimicry of True Names fueled by the Aether by dominating it, Aether magic itself allows the user to borrow magic from the world around them. Connecting to the Aether itself using life near them as a medium, drawing energy from the environment, or other living beings and using it to fuel one's own spells or aura instead.

This doesn't come without its risks as all environments have a limit on how much energy they can offer, and draining too much can cause the land to wither and die.

Similarly, the users can only drain out energy from beings that hold weaker will and focus than themselves and must actively battle to drain that energy from them. This means it's quite easy to draw out energy from plant life, rodents, and similar species. However larger and more intelligent animals or even other humanoids are far more difficult to drain, even impossible for most.

Similarly, when one battles another user of this magic, one can always tell from the scars a land suffers. It is a battle of wills and creativity to see who is more skilled, and capable of dragging out energy from one another, but as a side effect plantlife, insects, and small animals in the area will all likely be dead or dying by the end of the clash regardless of how careful the two may attempt to be simply due to the nature of this magic.
