Firstborn

Mantra

A powerful form of Runic Magic first created by The Firstborn, this is a unique spell that allows the user to infuse a section of their conscious mind into an object. Usually, an Enchantment Orb of some sort to properly hold the magic and consciousness. It's to be noted that this is not the true soul of the Firstborn, though it will hold their characteristics and personality. They are essentially a copy, used to pass down knowledge to others.

When well cared for and fed magical energy constantly, the Mantra has an indefinite lifespan. Though they hold only vague wisps of memory, and only know what they are programmed through their runes to do. They are designed to focus on imparting their knowledge to whoever picks up the Mantra itself. This exchange of knowledge allows the individual that makes contact with the Mantra to near-instantly obtain knowledge and skill that would normally take years to properly comprehend. Many famous mages throughout history acquired their knowledge through finding these Mantras in Firstborn ruins, deep within the Labyrinth.

Should a Mantra be left uncared for, it will enter a sort of stasis, giving it the energy for only a single 'lesson', before it will die. Due to this, there is only a single active Mantra currently known, as others that are found quickly impart their knowledge to a final student, before expiring in their hands.

Soul Coin

A dark magic item that is capable of holding a sapient soul in stasis, sealed within it. The soul continues to accumulate spiritual energy as if it were in the Aether or within a living body, but is no longer conscious, nor even dreaming. The coins are often used as a form of currency within the Daevata clans, as the raw power found within souls holds far more meaning than normal humanoid currency found on the surface.

Even a coin holding an incredibly weak soul is considered worth thousands of gold coins in Zaria for its potential energy. Some mages use these coins to create Essense to augment their spellcasting, draining the spiritual energy without destroying the primary source.

Brittanian

Pure Potion

A potion that nullifies the appearance of a tainted individual's black blood, turning it a deep maroon instead. Extremely expensive for its seemingly aesthetic effects. Created by the Blackmore to ensure they kept their cover so as to maintain their positions and reputation.

Key of Avalon

A slim piece of metal crafted using Firstborn Alloy. It is the key which unbinds the seal of “Avalon” that binds "The Celestial" away under the Draconian Dynasty. The key cannot be used by anyone that holds tainted blood and requires the magic of Excalibur to completely lift the seal.

Excalibur

What am I? How rude, you humans are all the same. I am Caliburn, and I am your only hope, now stop dawdling and pick me up before that boy loses his life!
— Excalibur, then Caliburn, to Atrian Pendragon

Excalibur is a legendary sentient blade said to be created by the gods, and given to Escanor, holding tremendous powers that cannot to date be replicated by any of the races. The material at the very least, due to its efficiency against Daemon-spawn, is considered something akin to Mithrium, beyond that is unknown. It is rumored in myth that the weapon is the "First Sword", and the basis for all swords designed that came afterward across the continents. It is one of the most powerful weapons in existence, despite its ancient appearance.

The blade is indestructible but has a plain, simple appearance. It holds an edge that will never dull, sharper than any known edge while also holding its own sentience, and ability to pass down its knowledge and train its wielder with all the combat styles of its prior users. Though this knowledge is not instantly injected like a Mantra.

Excalibur is sentient, holding its own life force, energy, and mind that allows the blade to use magic granted to it by its creators. Due to this, Excalibur holds a small arsenal of spells that it can utilize without needing to drain its wielder's stamina in any way. Draining its own reservoirs of energy instead, effectively having its own mana core despite not being a living being.

  • Healing: The blade is capable of channeling its energy to heal the wounds of those nearby, including its wielder. Though this is easily its most draining spell, it is able to heal even mortal wounds as long as the individual hasn't died or lost too much blood.

  • Protection: Excalibur is capable of protecting its wielder or those nearby with glowing shields of energy and magic. It can even protect the mind of others negating the effects of fear, raising morale, and greatly augmenting willpower.

Tel’Galrul

Blood Wine

Crafted from the fermented blood of warriors that have died in battle or war, combined with honey, spices, and roots of the nataje flower. When ingested it grants minor hallucinogenic effects while also granting the ability to see into the Aether, and empowering Primordial Magic using the drinker as a conduit for the Aether.

To other cultures, Blood Wine is completely unwanted as it is made from the blood of often, their own species. However, to Giant-kin tribes, the liquid holds tremendous ritualistic properties and is an incredibly rare and controlled substance as it can only be made from the blood of warriors that have died on a great battlefield and is said to have properties allowing one to feel the presence of the dead.
