Xeloc

First Mate of the Pale Prow
LE male elf vampire
Description
Xeloc’s skin is a pale, ashen grey stretched over sharp elven features. His pointed ears and deep-set eyes hint at the elf he once was, though undeath has hollowed him. He is bald save for thin wisps of hair along the sides and back of his head. Long fangs and a constant, cold tension define his expression.
He wears the remnants of an old wool sailor’s coat, threadbare, torn, and rotting after a century of confinement.
Background & Role
Xeloc was the loyal first mate and closest friend of Captain Ineca Sufocan aboard the Pale Prow. When the Pearl Heart’s curse twisted the crew into undead thralls, Xeloc refused to accept their fate. Hearing rumor that the Pearl Heart had resurfaced near Saltmarsh, he convinced a merchant to smuggle him ashore so he could reclaim it and free his crew.
Instead, the clerics of St. Cuthbert discovered him. They bound him with a powerful curse and sealed him in the cellar below the cliffside shanty, where he has remained for a century, unmoving but fully aware.
If freed, Xeloc will stop at nothing to find the Pearl Heart.
(See: Curse of the Pale Prow.)
Personality
Xeloc is tense, focused, and utterly single-minded. His thoughts never drift; his purpose never wavers. He speaks little, offering information only when it serves him. Beneath his cold resolve lies a deep fear that he has failed his captain and crew—and that the Pearl Heart is his only path to redemption.
He is ruthless toward anyone who hinders him.
The true nature of the Pearl Heart and why he seeks it is his most closely guarded secret.
