Wicker Goat - 1st Floor

Taproom

The Taproom is a sturdy, well-worn space filled with the glow of lanterns and the warmth of a great central hearth. The scent of roasted meat, fresh bread, and strong ale lingers in the air. Thick oak tables host miners, town guards, and travelers, their voices a steady hum of conversation.
The bar, lined with kegs and bottles, stands against the far wall, while four snugs offer private alcoves for those seeking discretion. Beyond the taproom, doors lead to the kitchen, cask room, and office. Despite its rough clientele, the Wicker Goat is orderly—Lankus keeps the peace, and Mira keeps the ale flowing.
In the room, depending on the time of day, there are:
1d4 guards
1d4 dwarves
1 drunk
1d4 villagers
Snugs of the Wicker Goat

Tucked into the corners of the taproom, the four snugs offer secluded spaces for private gatherings, each with a sturdy wooden table and cushioned benches. Heavy curtains or wooden partitions keep conversations out of earshot and away from prying eyes.
The Miner’s Rest – A snug favored by dwarves and laborers, its walls lined with pickaxes and mining relics.
The Guard’s Retreat – A meeting spot for off-duty town guards, marked by a worn Keoish banner and a rack for weapons.
The Trader’s Nook – Used by merchants and negotiators, this snug features a small lockbox and a well-worn map of Saltmarsh.
The Captain’s Quarters – The most refined snug, with a sturdier door and a faded naval chart, frequented by ship captains and officials.
Whether for business, secrecy, or a quiet drink, the snugs of the Wicker Goat provide a place for those who prefer their company—and their conversations—kept private.

Kitchen & Pantry
The kitchen of the Wicker Goat is a bustling, heat-filled space where the scent of roasting meat, fresh bread, and simmering stew fills the air. A heavyset woman named Marta, the tavern’s no-nonsense cook, commands the kitchen with a wooden spoon like a general leading an army. She barks orders while expertly tending a bubbling pot over the hearth.
A very young girl, barely past childhood, rushes between the pantry and the counters, fetching ingredients with nervous energy. Beside her, a tall, lanky man kneads dough with practiced hands, his long limbs moving awkwardly but efficiently. The pantry, a small adjoining room, is stocked with sacks of grain, hanging herbs, and barrels of salted fish and ale. Despite the chaos, the kitchen runs smoothly under Marta’s watchful eye, ensuring the Wicker Goat’s patrons never leave hungry.
Bar
The bar is the heart of the Wicker Goat, a long, polished oak counter lined with sturdy stools. Behind it, shelves stocked with bottles of Keoish whiskey, local ales, and imported wines gleam in the warm lantern light. A row of wooden kegs, each marked with a simple rune or brand, sits on a rack, their spigots ready to fill waiting tankards.
Mira is often here, keeping a watchful eye on the taproom, pouring drinks, or exchanging quiet words with regulars. When she’s out tending to guests, a young, beautiful woman stands behind the bar, either filling tankards or polishing glasses with a practiced ease. Though her bright smile welcomes patrons, she moves with the sharp awareness of someone who knows how to handle trouble.
The bar is a place of steady conversation and good company, where guards swap stories, dwarves nurse their drinks, and travelers find a moment’s rest before continuing on their way.
Office
Tucked behind the bar, the office is a small but orderly space where the business of the Wicker Goat is handled. A heavy wooden desk, covered in ledgers, quills, and stacks of coin, dominates the room. Shelves along the walls hold bottles of reserve spirits, supply records, and a few old guard mementos from Lankus' past. A single sturdy chair sits behind the desk, though there’s little room for visitors—this is a place for work, not socializing.
Lankus is often found here, balancing the books, managing orders, or handling disputes, unless he’s out dealing with trouble or fixing something in the tavern. Though simple, the office reflects his no-nonsense approach—efficient, practical, and built to last.
Cask Room

The Cask Room is a cool, dimly lit storage space lined with stacked barrels of ale, wine, and spirits. The scent of aged wood and fermented drink lingers in the air. A sturdy iron-banded door keeps the stock secure, and wooden racks hold bottles of finer liquor for special patrons. Tavern workers slip in and out, refilling kegs and hauling fresh casks to the bar, ensuring the Wicker Goat never runs dry.
