Xolec has a clue related to which location he remembers, before being sealed in the cellar.
1. Lizardfolk Lair (Danger at Dunwater)
The Lizard Queen treasures the Pearl Heart as an ancestral relic, used in sacred ceremonies.
She does not know it contains a trapped soul. Recovering it will likely require diplomacy, a favor, or negotiation with her shamans.
Xolec's Clue: “I heard the scaled queen holding it as a sacred jewel… somewhere at the mouth of the Dunwater.”
2. The Ruined Tower of Zenopus
Deep beneath the ruins lies a magically sealed reliquary chamber.
Zenopus studied the pearl’s necromantic properties before his downfall.
Expect arcane wards, lingering spirits, and constructs designed to protect the artifact.
Xolec's Clue: “There’s a city buried under Zenopus’s tower… and whispers say the Heart was sealed in its depths.”
3. The Dunwater River & Drowned Forest (Choose 1)
Place the heart in one of these sub-locations:
The Still Pool — a cursed still pool in the Drowned Forest
Xolec's Clue: “The Heart sank into a silent pool deep in the Drowned Forest, water so still it mirrors the dead.”
The Hanging Wreck — in a haunted wreck in the Drowned Forest
Xolec's Clue: “The pirates aboard Azure’s Folly, a Sea Prince's ship, stole the heart. But the ship disappeared long ago.”
Ruined Tower — a ruined tower along the Dunwater river.
Xolec's Clue: “Alchemists in a remote tower along the Dunwater river, stole the heart for their own devilish purposes.

4. Shipwreck: Wreck of the Marshal / Raven Rocks
The heart was being smuggled north when the ship broke on Raven Rocks.
Now it lies inside a barnacle-encrusted chest in the flooded hull, guarded by ghosts or a sea wraith. Wreck of the Marshall
Can be tied directly into The Lost Tome (Wreck of the Marshal) quest.
Xolec's Clue: “I remember a name whispered by smugglers… the Marshal. They said it lies shattered on Raven Rocks, cargo and all.”
5. Abbey Isle (Isle of the Abbey)
Centuries ago, clerics hid the Pearl Heart here when rumors spread of a vampire ship haunting the coast.
Xolec's Clue: “They took it to a place of silence… an island of broken prayers. Beneath an old abbey.”
6. The Styes (Port Torvin)
Temple of Tharizdun the Heart has become part of an eldritch ritual meant to awaken or corrupt its trapped soul.
Xolec's Clue: “I heard whispers that the Heart was taken to a forgotten temple in the Styes, where mad priests honor a chained god.”
7. Warthalkeep Ruins
Long ago, the people of Warthalkeel found the Heart and offered it as tribute to their patron kraken Vaalastroth. When they later abandoned him to worship Procan, the kraken destroyed the settlement, collapsing the cliffs beneath it.
Now the Pearl Heart rests in W5. Kraken’s Vault (see Appendix A: Warthalkeep Ruins).
Xolec's Clue: “The Heart was once given as tribute to a kraken. When Warthalkeep fell into the sea, it sank with the creature’s vault beneath the ruins.”
8. Cove Reef – The Crystal Caverns
A massive sea creature once swallowed the Heart along with the cargo ship that carried it.
The creature eventually died, its skeleton forming part of the Crystal Cave deep beneath Cove Reef. The Pearl Heart now lies within the cave.
