Perched on a low hill, the Saltmarsh Barracks & Jail is a weathered stone structure, its walls streaked with age and salt from the sea air. The watchtower leans slightly, its wooden beams darkened with rot, while rust creeps along the iron bands of the reinforced gate. A few lanterns flicker weakly, their light barely pushing back the creeping dusk.

The courtyard, once a place of discipline, is now uneven with patches of grass breaking through the dirt. No guards stand at attention—just a few idle figures loitering near the entrance, watching the town below. The place still holds an air of authority, but time has worn it down, and the whispers of the past linger in its empty watch posts.
