Visiting Captain Eliander Fireborn

Captain Eliander Fireborn
Fireborn receives the party formally at his home overlooking the harbor.
“You are not the first to chase tales of lost treasure, but few ask in the right places.
You said this vessel’s name escapes you?”
If they share they only know the name Mordenkainen or Kwalish. He suggests searching through his books of naval expeditions with any referencing the famous wizard Mordenkaine or the inventor Kwalish, but he is unaware of any.

Benedict the Butler
If treated kindly, Benedict hints:
“The captain keeps ledgers on old naval expeditions down in the study.
Might be somethin’ there, if you’re after shipwrecks.”
He cannot grant entry without permission. Finding Fireborn’s stolen book (the Lost Tome quest) earns the party access.
Notes:
At the Wicker Goat, Benedict casually mentions the party’s inquiry to his friend Skerrin Wavechaser, giving the Brotherhood confirmation that Fireborn is involved.

Fireborn’s Library
Searching through the naval books for a ship referencing Mordenkainen, only one reference is found in the heavy ledger Naval Expeditions of the Keoish Crown CY 530–550. The following page reveals information about the ship and voyage. There are no mentions of Kwalish or the apparatus.

Fireborn frowns deeply.
“Mordenkainen himself? Then this isn’t mere rumor.
If you find anything, you’ll inform me. Keoland has a vested interest in its own ships.”
He dispatches a sealed letter to Niole Dra, quietly placing Keoland’s attention on the party.
