The smell of tanned hide and woodsmoke fills the air. A hand-painted sign swings gently in the breeze "Kester’s Leather Goods” and a weathered bulletin board lists hunting notices and prices for hides.

The first building, a timber house, serves as a leather goods shop and residence. A dog stirs lazily on the porch, watching as you approach.

Across the dirt path stands a larger stone workshop, echoing with the thud of mallets and the hiss of boiling vats. Smoke and steam rise, carrying the sharp tang of curing hides. Outside, racks of freshly stretched skins, deer, boar, and stranger things, drying in the salt-tinged breeze.
