Population

Saltmarsh is home to approximately 2,000 residents, predominantly humans. Non-human populations, including halflings, elves, and gnomes, have dwindled in recent decades due to the witch hunts and ongoing tensions.

Saltmarsh Village, a small fishing village nestled at the mouth of the Kingfisher River, has a history as brackish as the waters of the nearby Hool Marshes. Its origins are obscured by time, with no definitive records of its establishment. On the western side of the river, ancient ruins, including the enigmatic Tower of Zenopus, suggest that a settlement existed long before the current village. This rich yet mysterious history has left its mark on both the landscape and the people of Saltmarsh.
