The scent of salt, smoke, and fresh catch hangs thick in the air as you walk along the waterfront. Ahead, a wide wooden building rises on stilts above the tide, weathered, sagging roof, and nets draped from the railings. Barrels and crates sit stacked along the exterior walls, and the creak of the tide beneath the pilings mixes with the distant cries of gulls. A broad deck leads up to the main doors, marked with the carved emblem of a great fish. The steady sound of labor, fisherman coming and going, and dockhands loading barrels.
