Loom of Legends

embedded image

A colorful stack of woven rugs from distant lands; the Principality of Ulek, the Yeomanry, and even far-off unknown shores. Their rich dyes and strange patterns tell silent stories of trade, travel, and mystery.

Wares: Exotic rugs and tapestries.

Proprietor: Yarjan, a half-elf with intricate tattoos and a pierced ear, who claims each rug has a legend woven into its threads.

Mystic Menagerie

A lively stall of chirping cages and wicker baskets filled with vibrant life, colorful birds, playful monkeys, coiled serpents, and shimmering insects from the Hook Peninsula. The air hums with sound and color.

Wares: Exotic animals; birds, monkeys, snakes, snails, and butterflies.

Proprietor: Sillsee, a sea elf with light blue skin and dark flowing hair, dressed in weathered sailor’s garb. She captures, cares for, and trains her creatures, selling only to those she deems kind and worthy of them.

Bog Blossoms Boutique

A lush display of mossy pots and swamp-grown flora. Tiny carnivorous plants snap at passing flies, some large enough to bite a careless finger. Many of these specimens are prized for alchemy and herbal remedies.

Wares: Rare plants and herbs from the Hool Marsh, Drowned Forest, and along the Dunwater River.

Proprietor: Zewanda, a rugged human hunter with a bow slung over her shoulder. She feeds mice to her plants while trading tales of the marsh. She once knew Taron Kester and may hint at the location of his lost hut. Zewanda warns travelers to steer clear of the Corpse Bloom Fungus and to burn it if they ever find one.

Cleaver’s Calling

The air hums with the buzz of flies and the smell of salt and smoke. A heavyset man swings his cleaver with practiced rhythm, chopping slabs of meat and packing others in coarse salt. His stall is a favorite of Saltmarsh taverns, famed for the best cuts in town.

Wares: Fresh and cured meats; pork, lamb, beef, rabbit, bird, and goat.

Proprietor: Hankarun, a burly man with a booming laugh and a blood-stained apron. He’s on friendly terms with every tavern owner, except the Empty Net. A quiet Loyalist, he distrusts smugglers and dreams of opening a proper butcher’s shop like those in Seaton.

Cluck & Shell

A chorus of clucking fills the air from rows of wicker cages. Each thud of the butcher’s cleaver next door sends the hens into a startled uproar. A small basket of fluffy chicks peeps softly beside neatly stacked baskets of eggs ready for sale.

Wares: Live chickens, chicks, and fresh eggs.

Proprietor: Luvla, a slender woman with long hair and strong, weathered hands. She runs Saltmarsh’s largest chicken coop and provides eggs to nearly every household. Married to Hankarun of Cleaver’s Calling, she has a fondness for gossip and delights in showing the town’s children her newest hatchlings.
