SUMMARY

Alcenia is a large island located in the Veiled Sea several weeks sail to the northeast of the Continental powers. It is about 500 miles across by latitude--although it provides varied biomes relative to its size--including coastal plains, fertile grasslands, boggy wetlands, and nearly untraversible jagged mountains.

No civilizations or intelligent groups are native to Alcenia. However, various extraplanar beings--most notably and commonly originating from the Feywilds--are known to appear in proximity of the Drutherwood and interact with material settlers and adventurers.

All major settlements on Alcenia are located on or near the coast. Stone-walled Igsiar, in the Northeast, is the largest settlement on the island and the only city officially controlled by a continental power--being founded and maintained as an official colony of Ganthe half a generation before the Noncontinental War.

Other municipalities are founded and governed via independent charter issued by a rigorous approval process supervised by the Consortium.

Alcenia was first discovered by Ganthene navigator Allig si Cann, who claimed it in the name of his motherland. Early exploration revealed a bevy of rare, magical, and intrapalanar substances and goods, and the island quickly took a central role in the politics, economies, and culture of the unified powers due to its vast output of luxury and utilitarian exports.
