The Gloaming Plague

The Gloaming Plague was a devastating magical illness that struck the elven lands of Eirendor around the year 2,510 AC. The plague caused an eerie transformation in those afflicted, trapping them in a permanent state of twilight, where day never fully broke into night, and night never completely surrendered to day. Victims fell into deep comas filled with endless nightmares from which they could not awaken. The plague spread rapidly, causing widespread panic and leading to the quarantine of several villages and settlements. Healers, mages, and clerics from across Eldranis tried in vain to find a cure, but for nearly two decades, the illness defied all efforts. It was eventually halted through a mysterious ritual involving both light and shadow magic, performed by the rogue elven mage Eleneth and the human cleric Father Ilyn. Though the plague was finally lifted in 2,530 AC, it left lasting scars on the land and its people, and some regions, like the Gloaming Woods, remain shrouded in shadow to this day. The Gloaming Plague remains a chilling reminder of the unpredictable dangers that lurk in the magical world of Eldranis.
