"Look up, brothers, gaze above until He is all you see. Praise Him and set your heart and eyes free."
Basic Information
Little is known to the scholars of the Praesidium of the goblinoid belief "Solunism". Despite its secretive nature and the devout goblins' resistance to sharing this with Lythranic scribes, many have investigated these communes to discover where the power of Sol lies.
The religion seems to follow patterns of oral tradition and their prayers are derived from the feverish visions by their deity "Sol".
Solunism revolves around reverance of and supplication to the sun, believed to be a great and omnipotent being of ultimate grace and wisdom, while occasionally practiced by more civilised Goblinoids of Lythran and beyond, the primary followers of Solunis, are the Goblins that dwell within the The Swamps of Khazamir.
Followers of Solunism often make pilgrimages to Sol's Palm, a large flat rock in the middle of the The Ashyran Wastes, a holy site and known as perhaps the hottest place in Azure.
Solunists use a religious practice colloquially called Gazing to commune with their god, which requires a meditative stare into the sun, often without water or rest.
The sight of hundreds of goblinoid figures standing in the desert gazing, with chapped lips and whitening eyes has perturbed civilised society for as far as recorded theology, but throughout all these records none undersestimate the power that the Dukuns of Sol are granted.
Sol Sight
Unsurprisingly to the scholars of the Praesidium, those who practice gazing for long periods of time appear to lose their sight completely. This, however, seems to be desired. It has been recorded that those who give their sight up for Sol are only giving Him their own light, and through that they gain a deeper connection with Him.
Powers of the Dukun
Those who are called Dukun, the goblin term for shaman or cleric, are known for their swift execution of Sol's will with flameless heat. A researcher sent to treat with the goblins of the Pemutih tribe was recorded to attempt to convert a group to the Eight Saints, his melted bones and blinded research assistant are evidence enough of their power and danger.
