Langston Farstep was last seen departing with the Soul Mote - the power well that Granny Longtooth had carefully accumulated over so many years. Later in the Amaranthine Games, he met Jack (Langston had competed on behalf of the Winter Court), and the pair had begun to conspire together immediately. Their goal: become totally free by gaining ultimate power.
The plan was cough simple. Sigil, the City of Doors, was tethered in place via a magical anchor which pierced through the Feywild, Material and Shadowfell planes. The existence of this anchor was one of the best kept secrets in the Multiverse. The Lady of Pain who ruled Sigil, had immense power. Therefore by threatening to destroy the Anchor, Langston and Jack could blackmail the Lady of Pain into granting them the power of gods.
Langston had access to massive power via the Soul Mote to power incredible feats of magic as well as the cunning and charisma to gather materials and distract inquisitive eyes. Jack knew of the Anchor through listening to Sarastra when he served as court jester and had the incredible engineering ability to create a device to control the Anchor. The Ascendant Court was responsible for protecting the Feywild side. Murdering Sarastra therefore had two purposes: firstly, to free Jack from his imprisonment (the Memory Charm had been provided by Langston to cover the escape), and secondly to ensure no one was in power who even knew that the Anchor existed.
As Nicnevin took up her responsibilities as the new Fey Ascendant, she had adventurers gather a trove of secrets from a Twilight Court magical prison, where they met the imprisoned Burdock family of mass-murdering vampires. These secrets revealed the existence of the Anchor, and the race to stop Jack and Langston’s plan was on.
It wasn’t easy though. Langston was spending the power of the Mote freely, creating Simulacrums to run amok across the planes, some gathering materials, some causing chaos, and generally being a pain. For example, in an elaborate trap set for the adventurers, a clone of Langston brutally executed beloved poet Faust. A notable ally of the evil duo was the Collector, who provided many materials for their great construction.
All the while, Daring Heights grew - both the Feylight Theatre and Fiore Populare were built, two decidedly Fey establishments. Also we had our first Graduates! Taffeta, Merla, Ghesh, Varis, and BB all reached Level 20 and Graduated this season.
It came down to a grand conflict, as it so often does. Groups of adventurers assaulted the different locations of the Anchor in the three inner planes. Meanwhile a group fought Langston and Jack in front of the Lady of Pain herself, ultimately slaying the pair and bringing an end to their dastardly plans.
