Rune magic is the practice of constructing/patterning Ichor constructs (blood, hair, pure Ichor, etc.) in such a way that the consciousness of the Ichor is naturally inclined to passively achieve simple arcane effects. The potency of these effects vary wildly - factors such as the concentration of Ichor within the medium and the size of the Rune play a part - but on the whole Rune magic presents a great asset in being able to achieve long-lasting effects at no personal cost or risk.

Chains of Runes can be sequenced in order to achieve more complex effects, but by and large this level of Runework is incredibly hard to manage. The Human and Elf races in particular are known for their use of Rune magic.
