Humans are a race of Mortals formed in the image of Huran Zhi / Nyxal, during the start of the Second Era.
With an insatiable curiosity and capacity for intense emotions, Humans are perhaps the single most volatile species in Plumamentia.
Though Humans would not exist until the Second Era; many of the Spirits that would become Humans were, during the First Era, already attracting Nyxal's curiosity.
Humans were formed exactly as the Second Era began. And in the face of Humanity's rapid expansionism, many other species were forced into submission.
Society
With complex Rune magic, Humanity was able to turn to industrialism within a matter of mere centuries.
With this industrialism, however, came high levels of inequality and infighting amongst different Human colonies. In the modern era, the vast majority of Humans are fractured and disparate - each following vastly different political systems and mechanics.
The vast majority of Humans are birthright citizens of the Crown Empire.
Appearance
Notes
Unlike many other Mortal species, the vast Majority of Humans have very little Magical experience.
This is partly due to the steep learning curve involved with Rune magic - as well as the very nature of colonialism pushing against equal dissemination of power and knowledge.
Humans, in keeping with real-world medieval sleeping habits, are biphasic.
From late evening, Humans tend to engage in a 'first sleep' until near-midnight.
For 2-3 hours following their 'first sleep', they have a period of wakefulness where they process events, dreams, socialize, and follow religious customs.
This period neatly intersects midnight exactly.
And look at that Humans are formed from Huran Zhi / Nyxal. What a neat coincidence.
Following this period is a 'second sleep', which lasts until early morning.
