Nhera's "sun." Asra is a massive confluence of aether, burning with energy. It is the source of all aether in the Realm Matrix and is connected to all Realmstars via pathways known as Starcurrents.
Asra, as viewed in clarity, appears as a slowly churning orb, sometimes lenticular (though its change of shape will take the better course of hundreds of thousands of years) of glittering energy particulates. It's majesty and size are unmatched. It is the ever constant source of light and life energy in the Nheros Realm Matrix and can be seen from anywhere
Asra's colour subtly shifts over its surface. A result of aether ordered by divinities to form Starcurrents to different orbiting Realms and providing their days with different colours of "sunlight".
Asra is the source from which the The Starwell on Nhera pulls aether. There are many such mechanisms throughout the Matrix on other realmstars that allow the influx of aether to their cores and provide the ingredients for life to exist.
Asra pulses, creating something akin to tides that can be felt by starsailors and vehicle instruments. It creates a drift, lull and pull in a reliable rhythm every few hours of realspace time, which can be used to measure time's passage. This is called the Exotide. The only hitch is that every 50,000 years, the Exotide and its rhythm becomes about half a second longer, increasing the size of the matrix subtly over millenia.
Measuring the length of the Exotide's sinusoidal push and pull is essential to the accurate measurement of time in the stardrifts and starcurrents.
Regard Asra, ubiquitous heart of the Matrix, whose churning light warms every realm. From this primordial Aether-confluence flows life itself, painting distant suns through the Starcurrents. Time finds its cadence in Asra's great pulse – the steady, breathing Exotide by which navigators chart the void, marking the rhythm by which reality itself slowly, inexorably unfurls.
