While it lacks the exquisite grace of the nearby Elven settlement of Sur'tra, it makes up for it in pure spectacle and diversity. Azuri stands as a monument to the Nekali people’s triumph over the harsh environments of the desert. The edge of the great jungle Uzuma is just barely visible on the western horizon- its verdant fingers grasping over the dunes as if eager to spread its gift of life to the parched sea of sand.

Nestled in the dunes, it’s gem-toned rooftops and palatial towers reflect the moonlight/sunlight like shards of giant, broken glass bottles.

The city is ruled by an economic polyarchy council of theatrically diverse trade princes. The title is unisex, regardless of the gender of the prince. While all are most ultimately concerned with their own affairs, they understand that Azuri’s continued safety and diversity must be preserved for their own lifestyles to continue. Each Prince has their own values and personality that dictates how they interact with the city and their servants. In order to maintain fairness and reduce conflict, each prince governs a district of the city to develop and invest in. Any decisions that may affect the city as a whole are discussed between them all. Agreements (and often conflicts) arise between princes commonly.
