Holy Aurus Spectra

"With Two Eyes, We See One Truth. In Its Gaze, All is Known."

Overview & Doctrine

The Holy Aurus Spectra, commonly referred to as simply The Spectra, is the supreme theocratic institution and the unifying spiritual force of the Hyuron Imperia Aurumate. It is both the organized church and the collective political power that binds the disparate human kingdoms and companies together under a single, unwavering faith. The core of its doctrine is the worship of the Golden Eye, a divine entity believed to be the ultimate avatar of the Empyrean God. It is said that its true form—a being of pure, empathetic light and infinite wisdom—is only perceived by Hyuron in moments of profound passage, such as on the precipice of death or during blessed transcendental states, affirming its status as the gatekeeper of what lies beyond. To the faithful, the Eye represents order, clarity, and the promise of a collective existence awash in holy, Empyrean light.

Structure & Leadership

The Spectra is a vast and labyrinthine organization ruled from on high by the Dichopts. It is a fundamental belief that true perception requires depth, and thus two leaders must always preside, their dual perspectives providing the one true vision for humanity. Their word is law, their decrees shaping the destiny of worlds. Beneath them serve countless clergy, missionaries, and lorekeepers from the Lexicanum. However, the most direct instruments of their will are the great militant orders, chief among them The Holy Inquisitorum, which acts as the Spectra's unblinking gaze and unhesitating hand in judging the threats to both the body and soul of the Imperia.

The Psyachus Paradox or: The Spectra Relationship with Saian

The existence of the Psyachus (AKA Saia) presents the Spectra with its greatest theological and political challenge. The church preaches that true, divine sight is a gift bestowed only by the Golden Eye. Yet, the Psyachus are born with an innate, often uncontrolled ability to perceive the Perspicharix—the Unseen World—a power that is not earned through piety or granted by faith. This makes them both an invaluable asset and a profound heresy.

  • The Conflict: A Psyarch's ability to manipulate aether with their mind alone and "see" the hidden truths of the world is a dangerous mockery of the Golden Eye's divine omniscience. Their powers are often unstable, their connection to the Unseen World leaving them notoriously disturbed and unsettling to ordinary folk. This inherent chaos is antithetical to the rigid order the Spectra seeks to impose.

  • The Solution: Benevolent Subsumption: The path chosen by the Holy Aurus is not extermination, but control. The official policy is one of "Benevolent Subsumption," wherein any and all identified Psyachus are to be absorbed into the Spectra's ranks. This is framed as a merciful act, providing purpose and structure to those "afflicted" with such a volatile gift. The guiding principle is that a tool in the Spectra's hand cannot be turned against it.

  • Sanctioned Roles: Once subsumed, Psyachus are assessed and assigned roles based on the stability and nature of their power:

    • Speakers & Confessors: Empathions and Telepathons with lesser, more manageable gifts are often trained for these roles, using their abilities to gauge the faith of congregations, aid in interrogations, and project the Spectra's message.

    • Veritors of the Inquisitorum: The most powerful and mentally resilient Psyarchs are often conscripted directly into the Veritorum. Their uncanny ability to perceive lies, sense psychic corruption, and see into the hidden motivations of others makes them the most terrifyingly effective hunters of heresy imaginable. It is a grim, dangerous, but highly respected fate within the Inquisition.

By absorbing these powerful individuals, the Spectra both neutralizes a potential internal threat and sharpens its own tools for maintaining absolute control over the hearts and minds of the Hyuron Imperia.
